Hard to decide between these two 85 tonners. Both run pretty fast, both can have good energy or missile build. One has high mounted weapons while the other has durable XL.

Currently leaning towards the Buttmaster...

Definitely Battlemaster, 6 high mounted energy hardpoints worth a lot.

think the BMaster makes a better brawler, mid to long range probably a Warhawk.

Warhawk is a walking critical hit, but with recent PPC fixes, atleast it can punch you in the face before it dies.

I'd say Buttmaster, just because it's Inner Sphere.

Clan tech is for filthy vat-borns.

Warhawk, it takes more getting used to but once you learn what builds work for it, it's so beastly.

Warhawk has all of the ballistic and energy hardpoints on her arms (except the C-variant) like the Dire Wolf. This makes it very easy to aim and shoot.

Bunshee did cross my mind, but it was too much of a one trick pony. If I am gonna get 3 variants per mech, might as well have them be different.

Then BUttmaster, Warhawk can try many builds but only laser or PPC vomit works. Or maybe you can get SRMs and GRs to work for you, I cant get over the charge...

Ehem, PPCs are okay, Gauss is great, ER LLs are also pretty effective, LPLs are magical, LRMs work (for LRMs at least), SRMs work, LBX-ACs work well, UACs are good also. This whole "only PPCs or Laser Vomit works" idea is ignorance. Only thing that doesn't work out well on a Warhawk is boating medium/small lasers and small ballistics since it lacks the number of hardpoints. Get a Hawk if you like to maneuver and hit hard, get the Battlemaster if you like not being focused down while dealing damage.

I'll experiment with some builds. Bound to be fun.

How about a WHK build that has all: Gauss, PPC, lazor, SRMs and more importantly, it works!

WHK-B

Fire the Gauss and ERPPC at the same time!

Warhawk is a better mech. It's hard to tell without a lot of piloting, but what the Warhawk lacks in high mount it overcomes in agility and firepower.

Goddammit, now I am torn. Both of them will be a big C-Bill investment, Warhawk even more so.

I love this mech..

Tbh though, after quirks, the Warhawk is pretty nice.
Can do SRM builds, LRM builds, Makes a brutal Sniper and UAC-10's on it is just too much fun to pass on.

For solo queue? Buttmaster all day.

For everywhere else (except IS CW contracts)? There's Masterhawk.
