I really do feel that the Elo value should just be eliminated altogether. It truly seems to serve very little purpose.

I would e.g. be ashamed to end with under 350 damage with my SCRs (normally I get 400+), while it is quite normal in my SHDs, even to score under 200. Just because the SHD is 200% less powerfull then the SCR.
ELO simply need to be mech related.

Yeah I think he likely was. Looking on smurfy http://mwo.smurfy-ne...work&m=conquest (I've got it on conquest just so I can orient myself by the markers) he was up in B4 almost A4 when he went down.
The rest of the team had set up camp in B2 and C2. The last few of us including myself were putting up our last stand on the cover of the hill between B2 and C2. The enemy was coming at us via C3 and a few via B3.

When the effort of 12 players, including myself, affect my personal ranking... I have to agree with this.

As the guy who had the most damage on our team that got rolled in that screencap (can see my disconnect name there) in my Grid Iron, the problem was that our team was incredibly split apart.
Also, I was spectating you after I died, you were pretty far away from the front using your LRMs. Granted it was towards the end of the match but when there was four or five of us left you were on the other side of the canyon.
Shoot and scoot brother, shoot and scoot

Its also why despite playing nearly 2000 games of League of Legends I've played less than 50 ranked games. I play support mostly in League so I literally cannot carry most of the time. Kind of like Novakaine in this instance.

Don't blame you really my friend, just understanding that the flank failed due to team co-ordination and even I played a part in that.
Such is the Pug life.
I've found the most effective tactic is still doing a mike check at the beginning of each drop once you are actually in your mech and powered up. Then at least generally you get a few talkers.

I did.
I believe that, that was the talker who flanked with me.
Yeah such is PugLife.

Even good players have bad games, so I don't like to throw mud in their face unless they are a jerk. I have never seen PGI act on any EoR screenshot posting, so I don't do it for them.

I understand that which is why I don't see the point in censoring the names of the losing team while allowing visibility of the winning team.

I'll get 5 kills 500+ in my Locust ... and then next game I'll get one shotted having done less than 100 damage.
And then there's the winning and the losing streaks like 10 games in a row where you can't seem to lose, or just can't do anything right to save yer friggin soul.

Actually I'd say your team wasn't all that bad, since I seriously doubt you were all out Rambo face-tanking in that Nova, not against anything heavier than a Firestarter anyway.
I've piloted Novas enough to know how you post a decent kill count in one, and that's by dropping distracted/damaged enemies. In order for that to happen, you have to have a team with at least half a clue to do the damaging/distracting.

Look again, only the assaults did any real damage. Two players didn't even manage to do 50! Regardless, 12 mechs should have easily been able to defeat 6.

Wtf? Was he firing at 1200m?? How can ANYONE be THAT bad? I know ... underhive ... but still. /facedesk
Good example for why assist numbers are meaningless. Tap a mech once at any point in the game and as long as he dies eventually you are credited with "assisting" in the kill. It would be like getting an assist in hockey because you touched the puck once and then your team managed to score at some point in the period.
They really ought to replace the assist column with "kill most damage"
