So it is only 20 tons, offers similar weapon load outs when compared to the Locust, and it comes with a factory installed STD100 for a blazing fast 81KPH. So what does it offer over the only other 20 tonner in the game?

Jump jets my friends; it can fly!

The reason the Flea is not gonna happen, is because it would just be a re-skin of the various Locusts already in game.

The Hornet would offer a different experience when compared to the Locust, since it's natural engine cap would be what, 140? Instead of a white knuckle dash of doom, you need to be mindful of your surroundings or stick back and support the team. There are enough variants to offer different quirks and hard point setups, and with fluff regarding Wolfs Dragoons, a Hero can't be tough to imagine.

I think it would offer something we don't have in game. The Dart doesn't fly, the Unseen are not going to ever happen, and the Mercury would cause problems once you combine a 165+ engine with MASC - and it also is flightless.

PS - Honorable mention to also include the Javelin in my demands - because the lack of 30 ton missile boats makes me lose sleep!

MWO needs more non-Hero missile Lights for the IS.

I want either the Javelin, or the Firebee back from extinction.

couldn't the flea mount JJ, too?

Just looking at the locust... what do you plan to do with the hornet?
LCT-1M
Let case be JJs and there you go. Because you can't run.

The Cicada is basically Baba Yaga's Hut (House with chicken legs) as it is.

Id see it as a skinny flying Commando, I figure there would be one with 2 Missile 3 energy, and a 3 missile 2 energy version.

Two jj's: [smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4ad488cfcad073e[/smurfy]

More missiles: [smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ca94cfb91b2820e[/smurfy]

A 3 MPL build would be an annoying little bug! [smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0c91f0bfb045dbd[/smurfy]

Reskinning an existing chassis? Sounds like what lazy ol' PGI would do...

I think it's really cute that the Battletech artists sometimes let their children come to work with them and design some of the mechs. Letting children design these mechs really gives them a unique, fresh look, ya know?

There wasn't a new robot anime on TV when someone had to design that mech :).

He was probabably just scribbling circles with his pen trying to get the ink to work when he drew an oval. The designer thought..."Perfect! Now it just needs legs with my straight edge and were all set!"

Needs a paint job more like the WWII Mustangs - angry eyes and gnashy teeth. Kinda like a Bullet Bill with legs (Mario Bros reference). Need to add some nubby little arms of course - no lower arm actuators please.

Just imagine a Locust with 6 jump jets! I don't think a missile cool down quirk would benefit much since it lacks the tonnage for the extra ammo needed, but energy and missile range would be nice. SRM range 25%, missile range 25% anyone?

Hornet looks much more functional than humanoid design, IMO. Besides, it is only 20 tons.

Probably is more functional.

I just realized where I have seen that mech before...

It's Opa Opa from Fantasy Zone!

It needs the wings though (to help out the Jump Jets)

While i would like it in game sticking back in a 20 toner and "supporting" the team seems like a waste of mech...

NEED JAVELIN!

Javelin is very much needed, I agree - I just want more flying lightweight mechs. The Hornet is the only time appropriate mech that offers a different playstyle and has 3 canon variants. After we get the Hornet and Javelin, we can work on the Clint and Vulcan!
