I find it very interesting that the shoulder missile pods on the ACH are said to be a huge disadvantage, despite being exactly the same size as the FS9 shoulder geometry which nobody complains about.

The thing is: Arctic Cheetah is 30 tons, Fire Starter is 35...

So?

You really expect an appreciable size difference between a 30 and 35t mech?

Yeah? That's over 16,5% difference in tonnage. It's like saying there shouldn't be a size difference between 85-100 ton mechs.

But the Scaling on these two mechs seem fine, to be honest.
Which is a nice change from previously released mechs

Well... I actually do.

I didn't say there shouldn't be, all I said was "You really expect an appreciable size difference between a 30 and 35t mech?"

Expect. At what point has PGI shown any inclination to have that level of detail in mech scaling? And while I get the percentage difference; this is still just a 5t difference. You can lose 5t differences without egregious scaling problems.

Anyways, yeah, I think the scaling is fine as well. The ACH has the same size shoulders only if the missile pods are equipped, and my point from my post above was: People cry that those missile pods are a huge disadvantage, a terrible thing; but nobody complains about the FS9 shoulders which are exactly the same size.

Showing the grossly miss scaled mechs (well, the grossly miss scaled popular mechs) are being rescaled.

The scaling between the ACH and FS9 is just fine; of all the problem scaling comparisons in the game you cannot seriously point to this as a serious issue.

Look, I'm as much for better scaling as the next guy, but the ACH vs. FS9 comparison is ridiculous; particularly if your point of contention is large weapon pods (when we constantly complain that weapons are too small)

This and even your style drawing of mech sincerely goes from bad to worse weapons forget it. Use drawings to improve the design of the equipment. Seriously guys start to lose hope. :(

not the point...point is the FS9 is famously durable, eve without lagshield, despite not having a clan XL, or 2 super high, above the cockpit weapons.

And the total mech is smaller than the FS9, so the problem again, is?

No problem here.
I misunderstood what the guy meant, that's all.

Carry on, Officer.

DD will let you off with just a warning this time. Try to keep it under 55.

Give the shadowcat a left arm omnipod with 2E 1M hardpoints and a pod mounted Flamer. Then quirk that flammer. Balance it by hard removing the lower arm and hand actuators and pit that flamer where the Shadowcats fist would go :V . Also give the flamer special geo so it looks like the arm was somewhat built around it~

You guys do know PGI's offices are closed on the weekends, right? :P So one unlucky person has to work on their days off to give us these previews... show them a little patience, neh? :P

Sometimes I wonder if they're on a tight schedule in making these mechs, because otherwise I'd imagine they would make this countdown content beforehand and just autopost it. I wouldn't be surprised if the MWO team has more than one working the weekend though.
