Was looking in SSW and thought for a moment this had a left arm ballistic slot until I realised you look from behind the mech with SSW but at the front of the mech with Smufy/MWO
As it stands the B chassis doesn't offer anything more than what we already have apart from not having a hardpoint or hardwired JJ in the CT. However what if PGI reversed the left and right arms so that it did have a LA ballistic slot?
It wouldn't prevent dual gauss builds as this is already possible with the -C RA and Prime RT. 3x C-UAC2 is already possible using the -S LT albeit with 2T of hardwired JJs. Therefore a LA ballistic slot isn't really going to make the TBR any more overpowered than it already is.
The only difference for me is aesthetics. I would prefer to have a more symmetrical loadout on my 2x C-UAC5 build, plus it also allows me to use the -D RT for 2x C-SRM6.
I doubt PGI will ever do this but any objections to it that I can't see myself?

I was surprised this was not included earlier, as it didn't "add a build" to the game (and perhaps this is why it was excluded, hard to monetize) and at this point I think it is even the only variant we don't have yet that can exist in 3052.

It is the only standard variant left that we can have but also as you say, it doesn't "add" anything to what we already have. That's why I suggested swapping the LA/RA hardpoints to give it a reason to exist.
And to fulfil my stupid love for the Timberwolf. Create a battlemech variant with a STD100 engine and 1 ballistic hardpoint in its head and I'd buy it.

So would I. I guess that shiny yellow MW2 box with the Timberwolf on it that I bought when I was 13 has something to do with it.

There are 3 LBx there, but no UACs or Gauss on the LA.
One of the few remaining things in the Mechs folder, along with a Nova(second missile) and Summoner(ST E hardpoint). Perhaps others.

But in standard config or mirrored arms?
Oh, RA on the B...still, there's something there.
LA ballistic hardpoints are partially modelled is in the game files. The LBx series (10, 2, 5) are in, but there aren't any Ultras listed.
But, because LegoMech, you can just give the LA the same model as the RA and get your LA ballistic.
Perhaps they were thinking of doing a Hero? Anyway, they didn't finish the Ballistic line for the LA, only those 3 LBx are in the files.
Note the date, since before the new year. Current files haven't changed, still only 3.
LB5x currently there:
My copy pasted UAC5
On the other hand, does the Timby really need more hardpoints?

Great info thanks. It's not really more hardpoints per se. As I said it doesn't really open up any new configurations apart from allowing the -D RT in dual ballistics builds to give you an extra missile hardpoint. Plus the -B CT is the only one without a hardpoint, apart from the -S but that has a locked JJ.
So like I said it's not really more hardpoints, just more options with the configuration. I also tend to prefer LA ballistics instead of RA even though I'm right handed.

Well, if the mech were ever bad enough, it would have Gauss quirks instead of UAC quirks the C arm would get......if it were bad being the key part of that.
It is the reason I'm waiting for them to add the SMN-A variant so we can get a ballistic arm with Gauss related quirks.

That would almost be my ballistic '5 build right there.
RA - C-UAC5 + 3T C-UAC5 ammo
RT - 2x C-SRM6 + 1T C-SRM6 ammo
CT - 0.5T C-SRM6 ammo
LT - 3x C-ERML
LA - C-UAC5 + 3T C-UAC5 ammo
Better looking than this at least:
