I am probably being stupid right now.... i havent played in months and at the moment have no real urge to play because i have zero goals to try for right now. Yet for some reason i am tempted to buy the wave 3..... mainly because i have this desire to try a 7 MG shadowcat.
THen i think seriously i am going to spend $120 on something to play one mech (if i am buying a bundle im just getting them all) and maybe play around with the others? Then i start thinking with how stagnant the game is lately and that i already preordered the resitance 2 (mauler baby) and i am going to have to wait MONTHS to play with the friggin things.
i dunno help either talk me out of it or into it please.

Yeah, the 4th variants were early adopter rewards... the 7 MG SCat is locked away for you until free release...
That being said, all of the mechs in Wave III are amazing machines. (The Koala varies from amazing, to shite, depending on your play style... I think it's amazing) But the Cauldron Born is one of the meanest mechs in the game. The Shadow Cat will be the most maneuverable mech in the game with MASC, and it will jump better than anything in the game except the Spider, while still being able to carry heavy weapons effectively. The Arctic Cheetah is set to replace the Firestarter entirely for all but the IS diehards. It will shoot farther, hit harder, run faster, jump farther, and have ECM.
Also... all the mechs are GORGEOUS. And the game is making a TON of progress right now. PGI has been working their asses off. We've seen more improvements in the last 2 months than we have in most of the rest of the games history. And there is more looming on the horizon.
Granted, the actual gameplay hasn't changed much. Huge improvements have been made to CW, but it's still the same game mode. New modes are on the horizon, both for CW and public queue. As well as a complete overhaul of the quirks/balance system.
They're back to talking about roles in warfare, some of the original talking points we've all been waiting for since closed beta are being talked about again... I think this game will be lightyears ahead by 2016.
