A lot of folks have a love/hate relationship with Warhorns Some want to be able to hear them, others don't. Some like the way they look, others don't and so on.
What I'd like to see is some of the older warhorns get a makeover to match what's sort of become the new standard round design. Personally I think they look a lot better.
Second, I'd like to see a dedicated Warhorn slot for loading them onto your mech, as well as the option to toggle whether they are visible or not. This allows people to use them and to see them in the cockpit or not without depriving people of using the Mounted slot for some of the other cool and interesting cockpit items that are available.
I see it as a win/win for both the players and for PGI. I'm sure some folks will be happy to splurge MC on mounted items once they can use them in addition to the Warhorns.
The other option is to mount the Warhorns behind the pilot. They won't be visible but they'd still function. I like the toggle idea myself but either works.
In the end, there's really no reason why they shouldn't have their own Cockpit Item slot. Versatility and customization is the spice of online gaming. It's a small change that I think most people would be quite happy with.

I hate having to choose between a warhorn and my x-mas lights. Your suggestion of making a fourth warhorn specific slot sounds (no pun intended) wonderful.

Simple and good idea that should be fairly simple to implement. I like.

I kinda like having a warhorn dedicated slot in the cockpit.

Same. There are a lot of cool and fun mounted items that just can't be used at the same time. It's depressing because they look good, and all that art talent goes to waste.

I would have bought more warhorns if they didn't look so ugly and out of place.
PGI should have made them all shaped like the Comstar warhorn.

I don't mind the varietal looks, but I really want that fourth slot. Lights and lanterns...I miss em.

I've honestly NOT bought items because of that. I like the warhorns, especially the Marik and Steiner ones. I'd be ecstatic if I could pick up some mounted items for my mechs and STILL have the rock 'n roll Marik/Steiner horns.
I really like the Chinese theme but can't use the lights or banners with a warhorn.

I have a love hate relationship with warhorns. The first set was pretty cheesey and most of them sound pretty awful but the newer ones are a bit better looking. I've never really understood why they are pointing at the pilot, seems like they should be mounted OUTSIDE the mech. I guess PGI wanted you to be able to look at them from in the cockpit though.
Also, I feel obliged to leave a video of my Double Warhorn DWF here.
