The event, which starts Sunday July 19th at 00:00 EST will last till Saturday July 25th 13:00 EST.
First place wins their choice of EITHER the Mauler Pack (valued $80 USD) or the Highlander IIC Pack (valued $80 USD).
Second prize wins the Mech of their choice from the New Reinforcements Pack.
Third prize will be awarded to a "Fan Favorite" who's submission garners the most "Likes". They win 30 days of Premium time.
THE RULES
1) Submissions MUST be original content only. Reposts of previous content (either yours or someone else's) will not be allowed.
2) Your story must be LESS than 2,500 words
3) Your story must take place within the MechWarrior/BattleTech universe, but can be from any period in said universe up to and including the Dark Age.
4) You MAY use real people/events, for example: An account of a battle between the 4th Tau Ceti Rangers and Robinson's Rangers Brigade. However, you must indicate as such at the beginning of your story with the tag <<The following is based on real people and events>> There is to be no name and shame or personal attacks. Persons included in such a story WILL be contacted to verify this.
5) All submissions and must be made BEFORE 13:00 EST on Saturday July 25th. NO EDITS CAN BE MADE AFTER SUBMISSION.
6) Points will be detracted for consistent poor grammar and spelling.
7) Submissions must be posted to the separate thread marked THE GOLDEN PEN EVENT which will be started by me.
Other rules may be added as I think of them, so please check back on this thread regularly. Posts submitted before a rule change will not be affected by the rule change unless specifically stated.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the event no later than a month after the winners are announced. (barring horrific financial losses on my part like homelessness, but in that case I won't have internet for y'all to yell at me)
