.. fyi, I find the timber a fairly boring mech, and not because it's good, because I don't find it all that good.

Um, what? It's a 75-ton mech that runs 89 kph with a clan XL, can JJ, and has enough pod space to run any number of effective energy, ballistics, and missile combos. The only thing it lacks is ECM. Aside from that, what's not to like? What 65 tonner has better armor/firepower, and what 85-tonner has better mobility?

Squishy torsos , no room for ammo, but fun to play with laservomit / hybrid Lrm builds. Waiting for PPC hit reg fixes and maybe bring out the Prime.

Either my Awesome 9M with LPLs+MPLs, or my blackjack 1X. My two best preforming mechs, i always have fun in em even in a stomp, and unless i get swarmed i can take a few with me even in a loss. :D

My Warhawk, Singularity, is solid and reliable. I love it. It is the mech I take if I need to take my gloves off and carry after a string of bad games.

Play an Orion and then tell me about squishy torsos. I've got little problems with that in a timber, torso twisting is easy. Twisting, which is btw supported by an XL375.

Otherwise it's a 75 ton mech going 80kph. That's some of the best survivability you'll get in this game,.

I return to my Mad Dogs, particularly the prime. I run 2XaLRM15, and 2XLPL, loads of fun.

Well, mines an Invasion Hawk with Quad PPCs, a TC 2 (or 3?) and Sinks. The Camo is just Smoke Grey with Red Lines.

I treat her terribly, but she's still my favourite ride, even if I lose repeatedly. And it's all worth it for that one game where you systematically murder people at 800m.

"Ghetto rigged" Nova Cat Alpha Galaxy colors. With a brighter shade of blue. Too bad they didn't release an additional set of Clan faction camos with this pack. The Shadow Cat especially could have used our colors. :P

And it has proper long weapon barrels, which not every WHK has! I hate those stubby laser pods, but sometimes you can do nothing :(

The Warhawk C laservomit is so lethal, I almost even feel guilty when I'm cutting down Stormcrows. Hell, I haven't even mastered it yet, and it's still a wrecking machine.

Yeah, I love the Warhawks. I run my Prime as Quad PPC boat, I run my A- and B- variants as Dual Gauss and Gauss + 3PPC and I run my C-variant as LPL+ML laservomit.

I honestly would try to play with more ballistics on the Warhawk, but I just can't get over how ugly the CUAC20 and CUAC10 both are, so I refrain from using them whenever possible.

I'm tempted to buy a second WHK-C to use as a Dual Gauss, dual laser build. It'll be the first time I ever buy two mechs of the same exact variant.

Mind sharing the build? I cant figure out what you're using, because 2xLPL + 4ERML ends up with like 8 tons of free space. I could fill some of it with an insane size TC, but then its only going to have like 24 or 25 DHS and be just as hot as the Timber (i.e. really hot)

On topic, if i wanna stomp around and kick some faces in for little effort, i always come back to the 5xLPL Wubshee. Nothing compares to it, though some BLR builds come close.

Sure thing. I meant MPL, not ML.

WHK-C

And yeah, it's hot. 27 heat sinks tho. And 63 point alpha strike. That's some serious NOPE-factor.

I don't hate TBR/SCR/EBJ, but you cannot deny they're the most common mech for a reason.

LOL.............the EBJ is new so its everywhere, just like the executioner. It very well may be the best clan heavy but considering that it isn't even available to everyone yet you can determine nothing by how common it is.

**** it, you're right. Anyone seen in a TBR/EBJ/HBR/SCR is just in it because they can't win in anything else.

Now back on the topic of Warhawks. What I like about pugging with it is while not fast, it is fast enough to not get left completely behind (Dire Wolf anyone?) and I play it at extreme long ranges with combinations of PPCs, Gauss, and LPLs to minimize the ST fragility. In CW where another 85t mech is quite popular (6 x LL Stalker 4N) I specialize in ******** on them at range with PPFLD as I move into cover. A lot of them like to just pick a ridge or settle into a valley and sit still and use their laser uptime to outlast anything that peeks at them. PPCs and Gauss will make them move.

I just can't bring myself to run combinations that incur ghost heat. If you stagger their fire that means more facetime and those STs will not last. I ran the 4 x CLPLAS build for a while.....uptime was definitely its downfall.

Ghost Heat really hurts the Warhawk in this regard. You have lots of pod space but lots of locked DHS and limited crits and hardpoints. Boating large energy weapons is what these construction rules are telling you to do but Ghost Heat makes this less effective.

Probably my DWF. It's a pretty rare game when I don't take down at least one enemy with me. Lately I've been running a dual UAC20 build that just cracks me up. Has a tendency to overheat real easy if the fighting gets too heavy though. Between jams it shreds anything that'll hold still too long in front of me.

Come Kintaro GB, there is no room for us here.

You are still one of my best performing mechs.
