sound better than my ritual of fresh installs every 3-4 patches. Though at least I don't have to go and dink with my user config anymore.

Well, the bigger the patch, the worse off the wait. Something like a hotfix lowers the time spent to like less than a half hour for me (worst case still downloading the Objects.pak file) but a large "content patch" (massive camo additions, like the Shadowcat+Arctic Cheetah) would increase a straight download+patch from say a half hour (assuming less than 1GB) to as much as an hour or two.

Better avoiding all the bugs than to suffer from the game crashing for the umpteenth time.

That's not a bad idea. Do they list the .pak files for every update somewhere?

No. Just do a search on all pak files (search "*.pak") and just delete the files that were "just updated after when you patched".

Not complicated.

It's smarter just to delete them all and then check time/dates as necessary when hotfixes or large patch days come along. Just delete all the modified files after patching and that should minimize the downtime.

Very simple (just takes a bit of your free time though).

It has nothing at all to do with the European servers.

Mkay, but is this a visual only thing or do shots still register? It seems like it would be a pretty tough thing to confirm during normal play as some people might assume they should have hit the target, but without being able to see the actual projectile after the premature collision you can't know for sure I guess.

Any tests done in that regards?
