Intellectual Property rights don't work that way in the US. once you let people start using them, they rapidly devolve into public domain. So you need to slap people with cease and desist lawsuits or forever lose your revenue stream. More or less.

I'm not gonna disagree, but is HG really doing anything with them? Prolly not, and they could be making more money if they allowed the unseens use in MWO. Like I said though, if it were that easy they would do it.

Dev's told us early on to expect an announcement. Regardless of the contents of that announcement, I am looking forward to it. I actually have more beef with the Amphigean LAG retcon than I do with the unseen. One was totally avoidable and the other was an unforeseen legal entanglement.

I guess you haven't been paying attention? Even if they do give us these mech in this game, what would make you think they would have to give harmony gold or any of the other companies those unseen first designs came from anything at all? AGAIN... As long as those designs are not used, then there is no problems. And the names like warhammer, marauder, Rifelman and so on can be used as those are not copy written by Harmony gold or anyone else. The names can be put on new redesigned mech.

Every year, they release 1-2 LARGE sized "Special Edition" veritech fighter figures, As collector pieces... THAT IS IT!

O.P you are probably right but what right do you have to attempted to quiet a large number of battletech tt fans from reliving their youth and saying the originals are to them the best.
should i post a topic clan ha ha never just to alienate the pc based players? I would consider that a waste of time and offensive to the player base.
in 86 odd we got hold of battletech over here, and had to wait to get citytech, so we played the unseen relentlessly.

The unseen are battletech to a huge number of people who tore open that boxed set at age 12-14.

perhaps you should consider that before posting, We all know the chances are nil that we can relive our childhood, but at least on the forums if any one says what mech do you want i can say Thunderbolt with pride and warmth in my heart.

Seems like the general consensus here is that the original designs are what people really want. Anything too far off is kinda like what's the point?

like watching Transformers the Movie.... but Optimus Prime and Bumble bee is not included in the movie. what is the point of watching?

while most hard core battletech fans would love nothing more than theses mech to be used with their given names and the looks they were first given that we're taken from other companies, we all know those looks are never going to be used again. I for one say that's a good thing. As much as I liked some of those looks like the robotech officers battle pod that became the marauder or the raidar x that became the rifleman or the Excalibur that became my favored mech, the warhammer... Those designs are dead and the names we love... Warhammer, rifleman, marauder and so on, desperately need new updated MWO looks. But where I disagree with you is... The name does have to stay the same and does matter as a new look with a new name is for all intent, really a new mech altogether and that we do not want.

I understand that. But what I'm saying is if they redesign any of these beloved mech like they have for any of the mech we already have in this game, would that not be welcomed or a bad thing? Look at the new Awesome or the new centurion and tell me you would much rather have those old very bland designes instead of what we got now? We can all see that if say for example... We got a redesigned marauder with the look and feel that has went into the already gotten mech we have, that while it would be a fresh new look, it would still hold true to that of its classic look. So I for one would welcome it. And to be honest... With now looking at a lot of the new MWO mech looks... The classic looks to those mech look horrid lol

The mech is what we want we want the mech layout and tonnage. We played table top with those card counters and a sheet full of o's also the mech had a horn on its head what the hell was that thinking about it.

All the mwo art has been of great quality and gives the universe of mwo a unified look, I am more than happy to get MWO versions of the unseen but they need to be called the same.

P.s if anyone suggests the battle master from mechtech im sorry but thats an issue

PGi has done a good job redesigning the mechs so far. I think their spin on my beloved Hammer would be good to great so I say, "Bring on the new Unseen designs!"

from an artistic point of view quit well drawn much better than anything I could produce (which is essentially a straight line... with a ruler..) proportions are a bit off and perspective needs a fix but well colored and the angle or the left hands rays is wrong...

still not bad not bad but I do prefer the other marauder drawing ^^
