Also of paramount importance is your preferred time zone.
Also are you looking for exclusively CW, or a mix of stuff?
I've been in Robinson Rangers Brigade for a few weeks now. We're a bigger unit with a mil-sim rank structure, and fairly active across all major time zones (Aussie/Oceandic is a bit iffy, but there are people and it's expanding). They have lots of older members, and the unit is run by a military veteran who is a decent human being (from my limited interactions). RRB is a House Davion unit and will always be, so if you crave a unit that will faction-hop so you can get more rewards, RRB might not be for you.
BSK also reached out to me when I came back to the game after a long absence, and he seems to be a pretty good guy, and my interactions with his unit have been professional.
