I'll probably be on that list for all the override suicides I do :D

I get pissed when I get swarmed and my team is either chasing a squirrel or its 10-1, mash the override button and give em hell.

I will be reading that list and laughing if I recognize names, like last time :)

Y'know, I posted a thread very similar to this and got nothing but **** from people about it.

Anyway, I too am eagerly awaiting the next ban wave.

We'll see how close PGI's list matches my suspicions.

Or maybe the devs are back hacking their PCs, to steal some nudes showing their fat seaters and small "front-loaded-tool" just to shame 'em.

I will assume that 95% of the players you suspect will NOT be on the next list.

Actually I have a list of only 8 people.

While I'm not beyond being paranoid about it I do actually wait until I drop WITH that person, and then get a chance to observe them, from there it's a matter of recognizing the 'scan lock' aiming, and the ESP like target tracking of unobservable (either through UAV or spotter) targets. When you're dead and able to observe those players it removes a lot of uncertainty.

It either goes a long way in confirming your suspicions, or, makes you realize they're good and just had a series of exceptional matches.

Should be able to ban 60 more as they all should have new accounts by now.

8 * 0.05 = 0.4 hackers

rounding down that means none :P

But since there can't be 0.4 of a person, I guess we can say maybe 1 of them might be on the list.

Son, you are either against hacks or for them. And you sure as hell don't sound against them enough for me. Wanting to keep the literal scumbags of your community protected from being named and shamed of there usernames is not how it should work. Mind you gamers have been doing this for years on various sites to point out confirmed hackers. Nothing wrong with that.

I have to admit there are some people that have suspiciously fast reaction times on their shots and unusually fine-tuned map awareness. Most of the time I assume I was spotted and they're just good players, but occasionally something just seems superhuman.

I hope we get another banwave soon so I can rest assured that I'm probably just being paranoid.

I notice this too. I'll be completely behind cover, no drones, no spotters and the absolute millisecond I pop from cover I've got lasers on me. Sometimes it happens over and over by the same player. This is fine in an extended firefight, but say combat hasn't even begun or I've just repositioned to a whole new spot. That's when it is weird.

I believe Mystere was referring to the witch hunt hysteria that pervaded the game directly after the first Ban Wave was announced. We always had some of that in this game, but it got really bad right after that announcement as most people were under the impression, for reasons totally unknown to me, that no one could use hacks in MWO, so they suddenly started accusing EVERYONE who killed them of using hacks once they KNEW they existed.

And I believe Mystere is right, it will cause that to happen to again, it hasn't really stopped yet, as we see in this very thread. Do people use hacks in MWO? Yes, we know they do, we've known they've used them since CB started, but it's always been a very small number and they really have no direct impact on the average player. The hysteria was totally stupid, I've seen people get accused of hacking and reported for hacking simply because they didn't die when shot with a single Gauss rifle, not a joke, not an exaggeration, we have people who are THAT hyperparanoid about hackers now thanks to that announcement.

The best laugh is when someone is caught hacking who you remember as bad.
WTF... what guy was hacking? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Just keep reporting suspicious behavior. It takes time and they need to be sure they are right.

You really have no clue on what I am for or against. So I suggest you shut it, tight. You sound just like GWB with his black-and-white world view, and whose "you're either with me or against me" thought process resulted in the deaths of tens if not hundreds of thousands of innocent lives.

Actually I don't think that'll happen. Sounds to me like they put some effort into banning hackers, which means they prolly waited for verifiable evidence of hacking before banning. Not that I'm for or against allowing a hacker back inna the game. I have opinions, I just don't care to share em.

But from what I've seen of PGI they seem committed to this second chance idea, which, to be fair to them, allows for a bit more potential income.
