It's been pretty bad, you collide, then warp/rubber band back and forth back into that mech unable to escape and take a bunch of leg damage.


My first match in my Arctic Cheetah a Jenner crashed into me and I was never able to get moving again and died very fast.

I now officially hate the new collisions. It feels like the whole team had doused themselves with mech-grade super glue. :(

Collision isn't that crazy if you're not in a fast mech, but to the people welcoming this.. I don't think you guys are grasping the crazy-glue, physics-bending, 2001 A Space Odyssey-esque warping that occurs once something fast or in the air touches something else.

Collisions are simultaneously better and worse since the last patch, the game registers mechs being stuck on each other and not letting them warp through each other better but instead warps mechs back in time (from the pilot perspective since on his end there was no collision) to jam them up then gets confused and doesn't always let them unjam (sometimes it even warps the pilot off the damn map from his pov).

The biggest problem with this is that it's not only happening when you hit other mechs, it's causing some weird lag spikiness/rubberbanding whenever I even see another mech on screen. Was fine for most games, then all the sudden, every time I have a mech in my field of view, allied or enemy, game freezes for a sec then jumps..it's incredibly game-breaking.

Add to that the fact that it's now almost impossible to start a match without damage from your teammates, even if you stand still and try to let them pass, everyone's rubbing up on each other and scraping legs like it's an orgy, and it's causing even more rubberbanding, plus damage...

Well better get on to providing video proof, because it sounds like to me a bunch of lights got thier wings clipped and are now trying to get back the I can run into anything at any speed play style they grown to exploit.

Or maybe, short of bringing back knockdowns, collisions should be like hitting a building plus some damage. The other stupidest thing is that if 2 mechs' bump arms it's still their legs that take damage.

It's also ridiculous we can't do enough damage for death from above unless the enemy mech is badly CT crit. I have one in a SMN against a badly damaged DWF and haven't seen it happen again.

Nope, not fixed at all. Had a teammate i was on coms with warp through me on the EU server, my latency was 16 ms, his 35 ms. His (slower mech even) just appeared right in front of my after some rubberbanding, he said he never even saw me in front of him.

From the Shadowcat's perspective they were warping between the ground and air, and seemed to be moving forward a bit.

I have a feeling you don't ever play lights and certainly haven't since this patch. It's objectively bad, you warp more than you ever did before and frequently lose all leg armor from another mech running into you.

I play mostly heavies and mediums, but focused assaults since tuesday because of the queue times for a change of pace so that's not it. Also have someone else playing the game in the same room so we could see this happening by watching both screens.

Can't account for other bad pilots. Taking damage leg damage leaving a spawn was already a problem. Now you can get stuck on the mech without being able to get away.

Short of? Nah bring the knockdowns back, just make it more forgiving (higher threshold so arm bumps don't cause it)

Massive warping today.

Started to JJ the canyon on canyon network when an ally ran into me. Warped all over the place, got back on the ground with a leg already critted out and 88% overall armor. This was in the first 30 seconds of the game.

Also experiencing this issue. I tend to pilot light mechs and this has amajor affect on gameplay. I lost a leg in a collision with a friendly stalker. Not to mention the rubberbanding on glancing collisions with other light mechs as we circle around a target

huge annoyance please fix asap! other mechs are making me paranoid just standing to close-

I'm lucky enough to have not known what the heck rubber banding was until they "fixed" this. I live in Canada and my ping is also below 20.

Since the collision fix I rubber band probably almost ever game, plus an instance each game of being superglued to the mech nearby. The more mobile you mech has to be the worse it is. Since I mainly pilot lights/mediums it's a pain. Quickly run around a friendly to shoot through the chokepoint and bam, superglued and taking enemy fire. Lucky if you get out with all limbs in tact.

I don't know about you, but I'd say that collision damage is pretty out of control. :blink:

You just said you were running into other mechs and destroying each other. Sounds like it's working like it should, so start actually piloting your mech please and thanks!

You should be afraid to run into other mechs and objects.
