To shoot a friendly you have to put your crosshairs, what you're likely paying attention to the most and have the most control over, on them. If you shoot them you lose the damage you would have gotten on the enemy, you gain heat, and you waste ammunition while making your team weaker. Meanwhile I can't control where or how other people move. If someone chooses to get right behind me, then they choose to get behind me. That was annoying before, only now it has the added benefit of stripping my less than meager leg armor. Regardless, due to the map design and 12v12, collisions are inevitable unless you want everyone to snipe all day long.
Again, I get the feeling you A. don't ever play lights and B. definitely haven't played them this patch.
You also haven't addressed why stuff like
this is acceptable. Mechs didn't hang like that before, they just slid down.
