Hope they (re)texture the river in the 3rd Video to bluish instead of that green tint. Also, on the 2nd Video, that's the spawn point on -- checks Smurfy's Maps -- C1, I think; the part after that, as it cruises through the river, reminds me of a certain wallpaper with a pair of Warhammers.

unabashed hint to check the new thread here in GD concerning the Unseen

The 18th is a Saturday, never seen a patch on Saturday. My guess is it will drop on the 21st.

Ridiculous they have to update the earliest maps they ever made, when they were stilling getting to know the engine and were actually designing maps for 8v8 instead of 12v12? Or ridiculous that they're now able to do much bigger maps because 3 years have passed and computers can handle more than before?
I don't follow.
I do agree they need to remake CW. But that's a different story.

Seconded.
I'd be happy for them to include fog, as long as it was somewhat dynamic, and confined to certain random locations. Maybe it could move or disperse as the match progressed.

My point is more concerning how choke pointed and poorly thought out the old maps are....in that they didn't know how to design them without forcing engagement areas. It is the same reason they continue to foul up true and tried design elements. PCs were able to handle plenty by the launch of MWO. CryEngine had been around a while and I believe they already knew they wanted more than 8v8 from the get go. The two reworked maps are great. All the old maps are okay but poor on a lot of different levels. CW maps are trash. They kept making the same mistakes in map design until very recently.

If it's half as good as the new River City, it's gonna be awesome!

I think it's going to be better. River City is essentially a small map that they have extended in every direction from the center. But the center is still the same as it always was, and there's relatively little fighting in the new areas of the map.
On Forest Colony, it's basically 4 times the size of the original map, and the original map is just one of 4 corners. This means the whole dynamic of the map is going to be completely different. It's going to feel very different, whereas River City feels quite familiar after a little while.
