Please remove citadel form River City. All changes to the map layout are made moot because of it.

I never noticed the citadel made any sounds at all before. ;)

I see what you're saying. They made the map bigger on both sides of the river, but we're still essentially fighting over most area most of the time. Either the Citadel or the stretch between Upper city and Space port. The best defensive positions are close to the river on both sides. Upper City and Lower city on one side, Citadel and Space port on the other.

Here's a counter-suggestion. Open up the whole map. Spread out the bases on Conquest more too. Let people try flanking maneuvers above the dam.

Also, note that the bases are so close together in Assault that it makes any kind of wide flanking really risky. The bases should be further apart in both Assault and Conquest.

The Citadel isn't a super important location like the Hill on Alpine.

This is a player issue, not a map issue. People want to go to where they are familiar.

A-effing-men. You want to cross at D5? You're in the open. You want to cross at F5? You're in the open. You want to cross at G5? You're in the open. Open up the area behind the dam so we can cross at B5/C5 and we'll see a LOT more varied play. I mean... a LOT.

F5 is crossed all the time (every time) that is all they know so that is all they do. "New things are risky, stick with what we always do."

People, for the most part, are rats in a maze. They go for the food generator and the safety spot. Citadel is safety. It is a wall that gives them a place to hide where they can't be hurt.

You'd think a soldier would want to kill stuff, but, for the most part, PUG queue folks don't want to die. They'll shoot if they have to but they'd rather not die.

I dreamt of a map that was nothing but a grid of buildings. Tons of criss crossing buildings scattered about like a matrix. And deep underneath the buildings were tunnels. These tunnels are immune to seismic. And they lead to spots along corners of the maps and two thirds across.

Essentially if you went through a tunnel, you could pop out like a boogieman and shoot people camping behind rows of buildings in the back. Hell, some of the tunnels would lead to elevators taking folks to the top of buildings behind the enemy positions (whatever we determine would be the optimal HELP I WANT TO HIDE DO NOT HURT ME spots). So you pop up the elevator then shoot people in the back.

Can you imagine the crying? Nobody would have anywhere to hide. They'd be forced... to brawl... or die.

The second map would be semi-barren with spiked pits and lava flows. Except, the lava would randomly start spewing out of geysers and fill up certain sections. One second you'd be high and dry, the next you'd be swimming in a lake of lava, dying.

The end result would be forced movement. There'd be rocks here and there, but you'd never be able to use permanent cover. Oh, and it'd have one other nasty feature--the anti-nascar grinder. The map would have logic built into it to detect nascar type movement and if it happened, both teams would be immolated, wrecking folks KDR.

Both of these would add tremendously to the game.

The alternative would be respawn and ticket based gameplay like battlefield with multiple outposts all around the map. That would be wonderful. But that ain't happening.
