That's a drawing made by the opposition (maybe freaking Victor himself).

Here is an actual picture of Katrina (Katherine) Steiner:

If it was Dawn of War (2004), yes, it was very good.

but that was more real time strategy I miss something like Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, too abd it was not gettign any addons to add every warhammer faction to it.

3025 means no clans, and this means no Nova and no Supernova, so both of my most favourite mechs will be missing in there :/

I imagine they're planning further campaigns and expansions if the game is a hit, like they've done with Shadowrun (which is getting its third go-around with Shadowrun: Hong Kong, supposed to release August 20th), so they might move the timeline up for some of those I would think.

They will for sure.
Shadowrun had 3 games. The second Battletech installment will probably feature the Clan Invasion (3025 it's not that far away from 3049).

I wonder how they will handle "mech customization". Not aesthetically but functionally. Would it be as trivial to do as in any MechWarrior or MechCommander game? Would we get any hangar at all?

What do you think about how they should handle this?

This will be a RPG. You will be able to "customize" the pilots.

I hope there is no mech customization at all (for a change).

That could be interesting because it keeps each 'Mech's character but it also removes the item customization which is usually also a part of the RPG elements.

Barebrained Schemes does not have the budget of the AAA companies, but damn if they didn't make the best Shadowrun games yet. They brought the Shadowrun soul to those games.

I'm happy to hear they are going to do the same thing with Battletech.

This. HBS does very good work, and are particularly good at capturing the soul of the IP. I can't think of anyone I'd rather have doing this, after having played Shadowrun Returns. That game - particularly for a relatively low-budget game - was really outstanding.

I'd say it's highly likely they'll have mech customization. Given you're managing pilot skills and careers as well, it seems customization is going to be a thing.

That's not a problem, in a single player game. Customization in Mech Commander certainly didn't hurt the game, after all.

Too abd they won't make a proper wahrammer franchise game (or maybe in future)? I really would like to have a TT variant on PC:

Some of the older gamers (think DOS/95/98) did a TT style 40k thing, they never did very well from what I understood. However, if HBS was given the opportunity I would love to play it. As it stands, Relic has done a great job with the RTS/RPG/TPS games its provided (granted Space Marine was a little rough around the edges but was a great experience of being in the shoes of a SM) but I don't know what their ability with a TBS would be.

Mechcommander and Mechwarrior 4 both had systems where pilot's skills increased by using them while you could still customize mech loadouts (and a few other things in MW4) and both turned out quite well. I don't see the issue of letting you control your mech loadouts, which after all the TT allowed you to do as well.

But, having played the Shadowrun games they've done, I don't think we'll have anything to worry. They seem to be the best studio to handle TT to video game translations so far.

Seems this was a GenCon unique opportunity, conventions like to do that offering exclusives.

please let them have any relation to MWO and probably share the same mech models, that would be a great synergy effect.

"harebrained Schemes" that sounds so off

I wish they would not. RPGs attract a different mentality than shooter games so a number of RPGers would be put off.

How many players can play at a time for a single game in TT? Two?

TT? Any amount depending on the battle you are fighting. Heck, I played in a 100 man event once at a convention.

Different kind of game.

It will be a good introduction (both in lore as in mechanics) to the Battletech universe for new players. And, because of the shared visual identity, new people might come to MWO.

And a number of them will run away from MWO like greased lightning.

While yes, I want it...

I don't trust it. At all. If I dump money into this, is it going to just disappear Is it going to be "finished", but in a state so awful it brings shame to the Battletech name?

Without knowing what kind of state it will come out in...I just can't support this.

Look at Shadowrun Returns for an example of what Harbrained Scheme's is looking to do with Battletech here, and you'll get the basic gist.

That was actually really cool and I hope we get some non-combat oriented RPG stuff in it like they did with Shadowrun. The pure combat from the shooter/sims has been cool but a combination of the Battletech RPG and TT seem right up HBS' alley.

I wouldn't say to look at the Shadowrun games they've made to see what Battletech will look like, however I will say look at them to see how devoted and trustworthy they are to bring a game worthy of sharing the name of its TT counterpart to the PC.

After having played all the Shadowrun installments so far, I'm going to be throwing down as much money as I possibly can to support this project (literally, I'm gonna be saving from now til the Kickstarter goes up to secure as high of a reward as I can cause the big ones by them go fast). The only thing I regret is not having the chance to have jumped on that Vanguard funding for all those goodies.
