What ECM assault are you referring to? Blood Asp?

Sorry, I meant after Origins, Clan just need a good ECM Assault and then they practically have all they need.

They're straight-up Clan weapons with Clan ranges. Unless you're thinking that they'll pre-nerf all of the IIC Mechs with negative range quirks?

Yeah, range nerf quirks.

What's the problem? It's just IS mechs with Clan weapons...

Endo/FF unlocked doesn't mean much, we all know people are going to remove ferro and put on endo and DHS like every other IS mech.

Clan weapons, meh. It just makes more tonnage for faster engines. Boating clan weapons get's pretty hot.

I assume that Origin mechs will probably be range quirked so weapons are further than normal IS weapons, but not as far as clan. I'm guessing if there's any issues, PGI will handle it with quirks. Quirks quirks quirks.

Clan Endo and Clan Ferro each only take 7 slots, Which means you can take both for the same crit space as an IS mech spends on just endo. So if the IS build can support endo it can run both endo and FF on the IIC versions. Not to mention the reduced crit space required for the Clan XL engine or Clan weapons. They are probably going to be released without any quirks because they are going to be OP relative to their IS counterparts.

  • employed check
  • not enough time in a day check
  • Origins pack no thanks - resistance 1 was the last pack I bought and I was, and still am very disappointed

All else being equal they are going to need negative quirks. Not huge ones probably because the Jenner is a light, the Hunchback will have godawful hitboxes (think the mad dog has bad ST?) and the Highlander and Orion dont have excellent hardpoints. But people seriously dont realise how powerful full customisation is, it really keeps Omnis in check - even the best ones. If we ever get it. the Stone Rhino might be the be all and end all god assault - Less hardpoints, but enough and way better mounted than a dire, and the ability to run a big engine.

hmm, this has been tough for me, I like jump jet mechs, and when they nerfed them my Highlander and Victor went to the closet. So buying a pack with a Highlander is questionable. I wish there was also some heavy with jump jets instead of the Orion IIC. meh, not really happy with this pack but I'll probably get it!

In all seriousness though, get it. Clans getting battlemechs is new. Newer than clan omnis.

Example: ever wanted clan tech on a grid iron? There's your answer. Wait, it's got 2 giant mounts? I can mount dual uac 20!? F*ck yeah.

I've only had two clan mechs before, and they were ok but I couldn't put the time in to get all three of them when they were basically the same due to the omnimech system. Today I got the hunchback pack (my first pack apart from the urbie) as the basis for my clan collection because it only cost something like £26 pounds for me and it offered a lot of good stuff. Also I've been watching the battletech cartoon and the clan hunchback is in it a lot and it looks so cool.

I bought the $40 pack.
I haven't bought anything for a while.. Been wanting to revisit Jenners and since I already have a stack of hunchbacks 60 meters high, I'd like to double that.

That being said, I think this Origins pack is the first one I'm just not interested in buying.

Then don't buy it? What's the matter? You want us to convince you to buy it? It's really easy. Like the mechs? Get it. Don't like the mechs? Then don't.

I like the mechs, more precisely I like Orions (got dem all and it'll be nice to run faster to my targetthatwillgetisfacewreckedinfewsecondsafterIgetthere) and Highlanders, Jenner and Hunchback will be a nice additions. That's all about any considerations in my case.

If it is something more in your case, like omgnewoverlordsmetamechs, then just don't do it and wait. Otherwise you might find yourself whining on the forums about X being crap/useless/whatelse.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit, I got the highlander pack purely because of its floppy hat and nice looking rifle arm... And I don't even like assaults...

I got the $40 Jenner IIC/Hunchback IIC pack because I have the mini's of those guys still and I always liked them. I was really hoping for a Griffin IIC when they announced the Origin pack instead of the Hunchie, but perhaps next time?

The 'Mechs contained in the pack will fill the empty slots in the Clan stable because all of them are unique:
  • JN7-IIC as the Clan fast Light Bomber (Oxide/Hugginn) or more.
  • HBK-IIC as the Clan heavy weapon specialist Medium or more.
  • ON1-IIC as the Clan heavy weapon specialist Heavy. Omnis like Night Gyr can potentially replace its spot.
  • HGN-IIC as something unique between WHK and EXE. HGN is very flexible in managing its loadout unlike those two. Four missile hardpoints and a cavernous pod space makes it a potential LRM boat (with Gauss!).

Oh, I know. Thought that there is little second bottom, that you are still not sure and since considering is here. Maybe I've got context wrong. :P

Has anyone pondered how the cockpit for the Hunch IIC will turn out? I'm worried it could end up a bit like tunnel vision...

Hunchie IIC cockpit with any ballistics seems like it would have terrible visibility, aye.
