'store-stock' also introduces some rule issues; any mech that comes with DHS or an XL is gonna have a big advantage, unless you just restrict the use of those chassis I guess

For year 3025 that isn't going to be an issue for House Mechs IIRC.

I'd be interested, but do we really have to limit ourselves to factions? I love my group and we rotate on a weekly basis as mercs so everyone has a chance to earn all the rewards in CW.

Ok, I will make this weekend a weekend of preparation. I have decided that I will make a new account, specifically for "3025 pauper" and I will blow through my cadet games and have my first stock mech by the end of the weekend. For my new account, I will not spend any money on anything except cammo and maybe a cockpit item or two. I will even get my basics out of the way in the solo queue (this will be pretty harsh).

I think I will go Davion for my new account (Centurions and Jagers).

Also, I will post a link to a faction mech table which has lists for 3028 (essentially ,3025 with a couple new variants) when I get home.

Make a new account, just for "3025 pauper" spending money is not required (hence pauper).

I would be honored to pilot a Panther, Jenner, Hunchback, Wolverine, or Dragon for my Dear Coordinator.

It's not that bad; definitely HARDMODE to be sure! The nice this about 3025 stock is how cheap everything is. I was able to get a full flight of commandos and a Centurion with my cadet bonus! You will notice that your earning potential is a lot lower in stock mode, however. Low damage and dying a lot make for a pretty crappy payout.

Some noobs still do not understand what 3025 mean I see.

3025 almost all meks are perfectly viable and fun to play.

But yeah we got some cherrys too. 2D2 if I remeber was a LOL mech, but just same in TT.

It is ok to be a "noob", we will learn-ya! :-)

Did some research during my lunch break and the only Centurions (in MWO) that would be available for me in 3025 would be the CN9-A, CN9-AH and CN9-AL. I will focus on getting those three to start so I can (re)master the chassis.

The BV system isn't replacing or removing quirks, it's just their fancy name for their new tiering system to decide quirks.

My feeling is that yes, that is correct but also that it's probably going to be very different from what we have now.

I think we are going to see many of the huge quirks disappearing and mechs getting boosted in the ways we've seen recently (movement, accel, structure, armor, etc) and this across the board "quirkage" will fit whatever system they are using to analyze a mech's "BV"*.

Russ alluded to some other potential areas, but it's too speculative to really make much comment on.

Either way, we'll all know soon enough.

I think I can talk my buddies into it.
That'll be a Lance, ready made, right there.
The problem is quirks. Some IS mechs have amazing quirks (Hunchback) that will make them obscene in Stock 3025 play. Just FYI.

Well, if it turns out that one mech is overly dominant (and not just because of pilot skill), then we can ban that mech until it get requirked.

That is what I would assume "stock" would be as well. If that is the case then I might be interested in this as well.

I have defined 3025 Stock as straight out of the store with absolutely no modifications other than paint / camo and cockpit items. 3025 also means only the mech variants that are available in 3025 (minus hero and champion mechs).

For example, buy a Centurion CN9-A from the MWO store, then select the mech and hit the Play button.

Also, I mean IS mechs, since the Clans are still in their homeworlds at this time.

Can I build an enforcer as a watchman, seeing as it's based off it's chassis anyway(I know, clan invasion era mech but it's all base tech, just need a 250s and 5 jj to duplicate a 40 tonner and at least one of the enforcers could work like a watchman) hard points wouldn't be identical and it'd have a little more structure but... I just liked the watchman as a mech more then enforcer.

I would like to stick with just the mechs and variants that are currently in MWO as this would make things less complicated. Also my idea is for a 3025 league, which means mechs available in 3025. You are more than welcome to propose an idea for a league with your own rules and restrictions though.

I like the idea of 3025 matches... BUT I also like the idea of modifying my mech slightly.

For instance, why am I stopped from investing the money to upgrade my small laser on a HBK-4G to a medium if I eat the .5 tonnage somewhere?

I understand customization can be a very tricky thing to balance in a game like this, even at the 3025 level, but pure stock mechs rarely hold my interest. Not because I can't do well in them, but because there are little things that bother me... or the fact that I want to run a proxy mech [for instance I can't use a Grasshopper with 2ppc 2mlas 2slas and an SRM4 pack as a proxy for a Warhammer 6K, or a Cataphract 3D to proxy for a standard Marauder]

That's literally, the only thing keeping me from agreeing to your game mode, I just find no fun in pure stock. There's too many little, tiny things that bother me about the stock mechs that I can fix with minor alterations to them that don't break the role of the mech. Armor levels being one of the biggest offenders.
