No one forces you to use the toggle. you can always just press P instead of O when you overheat to power but up instead.

As for the previous version is sucked horribly,

Deal with it, your in the minority.

Nah, I won't deal with it. I did the unthinkable, I made a macro on my keyboard. It now keeps override active for five seconds like before. If the developers aren't going to do the sensible thing, I will.

I'm too damn old to keep jumping through hoops learning new tricks every single time someone wants to change how a gameplay mechanic works--a gameplay mechanic that has been standard for close to twenty years.

So no, I won't deal with it. I'll make it work how I want it to work. Have a nice day.

Yep the game was fine as originally designed but again the cry babies got things changed

Now the game is worse

I hardly use the override key if I came back the fight continues

I also try to shoot for 1.4 or higher in heat management when I set up my Mechs

I hated the old override and never used it. I'd hit override, and less than three seconds later I'd shut down anyways. I mean, it was great for teaching better heat management because it basically made absolutely certain that you were going to shut down if you hit your cap, but frankly I'd always just kinda considered the override nonfunctional.

If they wanted to do a proper one-shot override, instead of this perfectly acceptable toggle solution, then what needs to happen is once the override is slapped, it's on and latches on until you cross your heat threshold, then stays the f*&% on until I'm below 100% heat again. Or until I'm dead. None of this "Hit O with the force and rapidity of a drunk Russian pimp disciplining his least favorite doxie or you will inevitably shut down" nonsense. Hit the button once, shutdown is dealt with until and unless it becomes an issue a second time, at which point a second button press is employed.

Not a second, third, fourth, and so on three about sixty-seventh for a four-second heat spike. Ugh.

Here are my thoughts.

I almost never use the override button myself, I manage my heat as best I can and avoid shutting down and try to disengage so I can cool down.

Only in a few handful of matches have I hit O because it was down to the last shot on an enemy.

I also spectate all match so I see it used but seldom and when used I see "xyz killed xyz"

I vote it stays as is.

The suicides are usually deliberate; some guy going for every last scrap of damage he can before he goes down.

After all.

Only TheB33f kills TheB33f.
