Arctic Cheetah is Pay To Whine.

(They're not that bad. I'll tell you the secret after I finish levelling mine :))

There are a lot of people that cannot aim.

It's easier to leg a cheetah despite its quirk than a FS9, imo.

Also: "Cheeter."

As a person who can't aim, i'm offended.

FS9 are very easy to leg, but it's even easier (after the HSR patch) to just pop the side-torso and be done with it.
And you know. Arctic Cheaters have Clan XL engines, so that doesn't work on it.

That's why is mandatory to aim its legs.
Instead, from what I see in game, most players don't aim at its legs....

Yep. I routinely end matches in the 30% health range with one ST gone, even in high Elo group queue. It's very weird. They're going to have get time in comp to figure out how they actually stack up vs. the FS9. For public queue, though...

It happens to me too.

I believe it's an automatic/routine aim, due to so many years in aiming at FS9 side torsi. So, many pilots do it even with the cheetah :)

I think you're right. I've never been one-shot in one. I have only one-shot one. He ran past me and my dual gauss blew out his rear CT (very good player too, made me chuckle because they can make you complacent easily)

As an IS pilot who owns and has mastered the Cheetahs, has them outfitted with modules and such and has been running them almost exclusively since they were released..

They're not harder to kill than any other light. I have no problem getting killed while piloting them and no problem killing others who piloting them. It has been mentioned that a good amount of pilots just treating it like a Firestarter or Raven when it comes to combating them and I have had the same experience. The side torsos are juicy targets and so many will waste a lot of effort trying to take those off instead of sweeping the legs over and over again. Trying to hit a small target on a small target that is moving at a high-rate of speed.. Other times I run into a pilot who just flattens me almost as soon as they take notice. Almost effortlessly tearing my legs from my body and bludgeoning me to death with them.

It brings superior firepower at the cost of more heat and laser duration, like every other clanmech. It's also slightly smaller than the IS counterparts it's trying to be and faster than the other clan lights. Combine all that with an ECM and bam, supa' OP clan light.

Alpha'd a friend of mine in one tonight 4 times dead center CT in my Wolverine with 4 LL's inside 400m and he shrugged it off. Also a couple of glancing blows on the upper body as well, plus a few quick random shots from other nearby mechs. Finally 2-3 other friendlies got him surrounded and still took several seconds to finish him off. we were both playing on the NA server with sub 100 ping. The legs and arms don't seem to be as big a problem as the firestarter in general. Still, I easily did enough damage to kill him twice by myself. GG hitboxes and HSR.

Similar experience here. In River City (NEW) I chased an AC in my Nova (he was busy shooting at teammates, so I could close in from the back). Was very happy to see that it powered down just before I was right behind him – Note: Powered Down, Right Behind – and so I started to happily blow his back – Note: BACK – CT with my 6× SPL-arrays. First right arm, then left arm, then right arm again. After three – 3 – salvos, that's 18 cSPL from point blank into the same center-spot back location, it powered up and I could get maybe half of my fourth salvo in 'somewhere' all over it's back. Beaten up as I was, he turned and quickly finished me. Please go ahead and calculate yourself how much damage that back CT absorbed …

THAT, and that it it's an ECM Firestarter without the ST-vulnerability makes the Arctic Cheater OP right now (until it gets commonly available for C-Bills). And it makes me seriously re-think my stance towards the game.
