Therefore won't be able to commit a team from the unit.
Guess I'll be playing for someone as a free agent instead.

Why are we going to limit peoples CW for a tournament that gains nothing from having everyone in a single unit? As we've seen in every other tournament in game tags doesn't stop cherry picking, it makes policing the tournament even harder and screws over people like the Isengrim who are split tags due to membership in -MS-.
Besides, not every unit invites every person who installed the game. Even if ISEN weren't split between tags they'd still only have 4 or 5 people. We want as many teams in here as possible. Let's not pointlessly bar some entereing.

+1, not happy about arbitarily limiting clan mechs but obviously will still be in it. Even without the limit we are going to see hordes of TDRs and FS9s. These aren't the days of the first Clan wave where they absoloutely dominate IS mechs, lets use some rules will actually encourage variety.

Thanks for organizing this.
I've registered on the forums and should have a team ready to go for the league.

If you need any assistance with league admin, etc. let me know (but it seems like you got you stuff pretty well together).
And for those griping about "restrictions on clan 'mechs", 12 out of 20 is the most generous of any league I know of (other than RHOD when it was no restrictions).

Those griping (including me) have reason to do so as the majority of competitions held by PGI and gamers revolve around so called IS mechs. Also will point out that the gripes were made on the OP not the addition of the second competition.

ARMD is already keen to be part of this, and Live if you need any help, drop me a line on TS or on the ARMD forums.
Jay, on the subject of game streaming I noted your plans for not streaming 228 games in your comp, and agree with the idea of having a 3rd party streaming games. On that I would be keen on catching up with you to use the ARMD twitch account to help out with streaming duties if need be.
Finally, the idea of 12/20 clan mechs per round I think is excellent. I think you can safely say that rule negates the game 'revolving' around IS or Clan...

We're going to disagree.
In my discussions with teams that play both IS and Clan 'mechs in CW, the consensus is pretty wide, that Clan 'mechs are still OP, even compared to the perfectly built super-quirked 'mechs.

I do agree with this ^ statement. But it's not good enough so that, given the choice, a smart comp team wouldn't simply bring all the TBRs, HBRs, and SCRs allowed by the rules (and then start building the rest of their decks).
