Myst Lynx is just one more victim of PGIs inability for decent balancing and implementation of role warfare.

Here's a list of reasons why you should take Myst Lynx over Arctic Cheetos:

End of the list

And somewhere in a corner you can hear a commando sobbing because it was obsolete long before the Mist Lynx was even released.

Well I am still keeping my prime with ecm, erppc, erppc cooldown and range modules, adv zoom and the fall damage module for my occasional CW matches.

That bugger is tiny, can jump to stupid places in the CW maps and can annoy things from across the map.

What's the point of any of the other Clan lights, for that matter?

The Adder still has a place for the firepower it brings, imo. 30 tons vs 35 tons doesnt make a difference in CW unless you want a Dire Wolf, because all the other good mechs have tonnage that ends in a 5 (SCR 55, HBR 65, TBR 75, EBJ 65).

They both cost $30 when buying the packs.

The only "Clan" Light mech that is $20 is the Jenner IIC, and that's because it's a Battlemech.

Isn't Arctic Cheetah supposed to be a direct upgrade to Myst Linx from lore point of view? It would be kinda hard to balance them equal.

The mist lynx was already bad. But I still used to run it for grins. But now that the AC is here boating tons of lasers. What is the point of this mech and why would it ever be run?

-AC has way more hardpoints
-More armor
-Better hitboxes
-Also has ECM
-Runs faster

I hope the balance pass introduces features / address situations like this where one mech totally makes another pointless in every single way. Lights should not be just about how many small lasers you can boat....

Boys Do you even read?

It's the lore v. gameplay issue. Follow lore, and you get massive imbalance, just like now. Do you want that, or would you rather the lore be squishier, so the Lynx doesn't have to be?

The Lynx has always been squishy. Gimme Lore and power creep. I have never played a game where the rusty dagger and tattered leather I started with was good enough to fight the final boss.

What was the point of the Mist Lynx from day 1?

Other than to have something to laugh at when it explodes by being sneezed on?

It was the only 25 ton Light OmniMech. Still is.

To give you 5 extra tons in your drop deck. It's an omni that lost the equipment lottery.

clanmechs are so much depend on the equipment and hardpoint lottery. While hardpoint lottery is not as worse as on IS mechs.

Would eb an interesting question of getting a bit away from lore and moving hardpoints to different location would be ood for soem balance. gice mlx some E in torso and it would be more appealing.

Demon's Souls - fantastic game

I hate the power creep, but I understand the business model. You have to keep people buying new mechs, so you have to keep them getting stronger to provide that incentive. It just stinks when you really like one of the old mechs and the none of the new ones have the same play style.

I was excited for the Arctic Cheetah, and then I found out it's an improved Firestarter. Bleh! Maybe I'll be accepting of the powercreep if they make Locust IIC, but for now, I'd still love to see a Founder's Cat hold its own against a Hellbringer. But that's never going to happen...

Um... it's a symbol of PGI's balancing woes?

It's great nostalgia.

How about CAP removal? That would be something worth aiming for!

A-C is meant to replace the mist lynx. quote:

"the Arctic Cheetah was originally designed by Clan Ice Hellion to replace the Mist Lynx OmniMech. Shortly after they began production in 3037, Clan Smoke Jaguar conquered the factory on Foster that produced the design, enabling the Jaguars to replace their Mist Lynx 'Mechs. "

The only way PGI can ballance most clan mechs is adding nice quirks to them, sadly the mist lynx is as OP as a victor in PGI's eyes and the Timberwolf is as OP as the blood asp

I have used the Atlas since CB. Sure I went from the (F)Atlas, to the D-DC, to the S, But I still use an Atlas. It works as expected. I can Dance with any Clanner but get powned when I stand still. And I can beat any inner Sphere Mech out there. Now the catch is who is driving it. Cause I would wager Someone like StJobe could mop up the floor with me if he's in his Commando or Bishop in a Hunchback.

Which is kind of funny considering the biggest imbalances the game has shown were when they strayed too far from lore most of the times.
