Everyone else has, yes. And it is incredibly frustrating. As PGI themselves have noted, when this happens it's because the server instance crashed, so no one can get back in. Some people have had their mechs locked for upwards of an hour. I have usually been lucky enough to get it back after a few matches in my other mechs.
The problem, of course, is that for the challenge you have to do Oceanic drops. I'm not bothered by 300 ping. People from down under have been playing like that for ages and kicking butt. Of course their ping is better to US servers than it is to Oceanic, which makes me laugh a bit, sorry fellas.
PGI has claimed that only 30 in 3000 matches have been disconnected this way. I don't know how they got that number. I suspect they tried to get some data from their databases. I also am fairly certain it is incorrect, and there are probably technical reasons that it is incorrect. The rate there would be 1% of all matches, but in my admittedly anecdotal experience, both from my own matches and other people's, that is definitely backwards, because actually MOST of the time they are disconnecting in this way even after the hotfix.
For me, and for the people who I have talked to, it has been such that we basically cannot play on those servers. I have kept trying, but others have given up. I have had almost no matches at all complete on the Oceanic servers.
I have seen no announcement from PGI other than the one saying that they do not consider this a systemic problem. Someone told me last night that there was a twitter from .. who knows who .. saying that they may extend the event. I hope they do, but I will proceed under teh assumption they won't until there is an actual official pronouncement on the subject.
I can't for the life of me figure out why this would happen without information to which we have no access. A network disconnect, sure, that could happen any number of ways. But if the software and hardware are the same the instance should not be crashing, and the current software clearly allows disconnected users to reconnect. There were no problems of this kind on the European servers, either. The worst part of the OC problem in my eyes, besides losing your mech for awhile, is that a several times we have had this crash happen right at or near the end, and we were winning, too, we swear!
I do believe a fix will be found and that there are a lot of people working overtime to figure out what must be a thorny problem. That I do appreciate. I'm just sad how it affected this event, which I have been intensely excited about like no other since Tukkayid.

That happened to me once, too - well what happened is I restarted my client and then tried rejoin. It showed a different map than I was on in the match, but I was immediately kicked back to the mechlab. So I never tried that "solution" again.
