Your Ping is 3

Why isn't my Ping 3 on the US server??? <_<

Because US companies aren't required by the government to have the latest fiber optic network components across their entire network.

The reason why he has such good ping is because Singapore is a really small island and sense he lives in Singapore he might as well be neighbors with the server.

Incorrect, its because the NA server is in Vancouver Canada if I am not mistaken. Why do people constantly think its in the US?

He lives in the US and has to deal with the network there. The servers being in Vancouver does not magically make the US third world ****** internet service providers, NOT a factor.

If i recall correctly, servers were originally in vancover but after PGI took total control, they were move to a more central Canadian location. I want to say Montreal but am not 100% sure.

One of the factors depends upon the routing, where one connection hooks up with another node where another connection node is located. Now I agree we in the US need an infrastructure over hall (And i'm not just talking about internet connection) but given the US government track record I'd suspect the cost and performance would suck, just like everything else the US government oversees.

Forgot about that, which would also explain why my ping is higher now compared to the past sense its now three times farther sense its now on the East end instead of the West end.

Or any fiber optic. At all, on any of their network. Or a network. Or allow other companies the use of the physical land lines because they bought them and can charge whatever fees they want for their use to those other companies.

Also, for some reason, the gov't regulatory dept. that watches over the phone lines has no say whatsoever in internet for some reason.

In a world where EVERYONE is using social media and the internet for even the most trivial of daily life routines, the USA is living in 1980. In the history, things like railroads, interstates, power grids- those things were seen as required for progress and people and the gov't got involved and made it happen. For some reason with the digital age and the value of information now, the same is not happening for a com. network. It remains largely unregulated, non-updated, and even non existent in vast areas of the country. People here wonder how it is possible for China to hack our networks and such. I guess China must have found the l33t hax to bust into our windows NT 4.0 servers.

You guys want to see somthing funny? Go to Frontier Communications facebook page. Basically every thing they post is met with pissed off customers calling them out. They have gotten to the point they post stuff about the veterens and that because they found most people at least are respectful of that and won't vent out about getting dicked on a post about war vets.

Singaporeans love to whine and ***** about everything. You should have seen the comments on Yahoo Singapore.

Yeah, the all powerful citystate on venice. forgotten about that one.

Pssshh. 3 ping? I've been in many a game with 0 ping players. They're so ahead of us in the millisecond curve that they've finished the game before we've all even loaded into it, and thusly they sit back and watch, silent, as the match proceeds exactly as they've foreseen.

Actually, it started in Toronto (yay, 19 ping), then moved to Quebec (Montreal seems like a fair bet, sub 30 ping is still nice).

Is it me, or is the difference between 3 ping and 250+ping not all that significant compared to other online games?

It's quite significant if you go from 3 to 250...

Ping. One of the few times where everyone is jealous when yours is smaller!

I must admit though, it's great when your shots go EXACTLY where you aim them, though now I need to unlearn all my Lag Compensation that I've had to adjust for when on the NA server.
