To be honest with you, I have no clue either. As a chef, I'm used to it being a very common term in the food industry to indicate anger, displeasure, and annoyance. To the point of us leaving Morton's Salt boxes around on people's work areas who were particularly pissy at a given time.

This has probably been said, but my experience with the Shadow Cat (2 ppc version) has been high (for me) kill death rate, and low (again, for me) damage. I'm wondering if this means the mech is actually more effective that the damage would suggest. One of the things about laser builds is that they can pump out lots of damage, but unless you are very good at aiming (I'm not) that damage gets spread all over the place.

yes, but what happens when you get salt in an open wound? The sensation, is it pleasant?

I thought this was obvious... Apparently it's not as obvious as I thought.

Scat could use some salt being added.....needs a serious bit of flavor enhancement.

Haha I know right? It must annoy the meta guys to see near 1000 damage games posted in "bad" mechs. :D

Naw man.... you see, you can always dismiss it by saying that anything can do well when you Pug against bads. And then the precious Meta is kept safe and sacrosanct from the Underhive masses.

Sure I suppose if that makes them feel better that they need 50+ point alphas of constant pin point damage to do well. Incidentally I bought a Vindi last night for shits and gigles and yeah, it's easier in the scats for me. So Kudos to ya that you manage to do well in em Bish.

The SCAT could come into it's own once AP Gauss is introduced to the game. :D

if you leave on a seaside the only thing which you need to get some salt it's a pot and a bonfire (well those are two things but w/e)

Pros
*REALLY really high jumping, like OMGWTFBBQ jumping, it actually jumps instead of hovering like most mechs
*The speed is usually good (unfortunately the Crow sets the bar too high here)
*High weapon mounts
*Obligatory ECM crutch force multiplier

Cons
*Hitboxes/durability are mediocre
*Hardpoint famine
*Not enough tonnage to really do much of worth
*MASC doesn't seem to provide enough of a benefit for its weight, because the mech is already agile by nature and the speed boost is kinda small

Conclusion: Rather meh, it works and gets the job done (kinda) but it's not particularly good. There are many mechs that are worse, and also mechs that are better.

just gotta ignore the meta, and to a degree, the quirks, and the Vindis perk right up

Levelling my Shadow Cats has got to be the most painful experience I've ever had in this game. I've tried to give it the time of day, I've tried to find a role for it and I've encouraged others to give it a chance but it's taken me 6 matches to earn the remaining 5,500 XP to master one of them. Yes, that's 6 matches during this double XP weekend to earn 5,500 XP.

I know not every mech is meant to be god tier and that even bad mechs can be fun to pilot or useful in some way. However the Shadow Cat is absolutely appalling in every single way.

Actually make it 7 matches because on my 6th I just got insta-cored from behind because this thing is easier to hit than a stationary Atlas.

I can get roughly 2000+ XP per match (with the double weekend) with derpy Urbanmech builds like 2 LL + 3 MGs...

Might it be a build thing? Did you frontload the torso armor? Probably want to use the legs that give the highest structure quirks (do this across all 4 variants).

Using UAVs helps as well (exchange spacebucks for XP).
