With all the ECMs suppressing the doritos, I find myself often unable to recognize the enemy mech in the distance if it doesn't move much, on some maps, giving the opponent all the time to take the first shot. -_-

Had to crank up the brightness and glue my eyes to the monitor to partially mitigate the issue. Thankfully, maps such as Forest Colony is getting a rework.

The non-snow Forest Colony is really horrible for that, yes. My eyes burn every time I play on it.
The snow variant is actually quite nice. Good contract.

As for the general case: I almost always have the advanced zoom module on my Mechs, so in normal mode, I just look for movement in general and then zoom in on suspicion.

Works quite well. If only the target indicators wouldn't be all messed in the advanced zoomed view.

Forest Colony is the worst visual map. All the colors blend together into a dull gray green. Very hard on the eyes.

As far as the Doritos are concerned... No Dorito = Shoot !
You Can depend on your team having a Green Dorito right?
So... No Dorito = Blast away !

This is how play and to date I have Never had an unintentional team kill.

I had Lasik about a year ago. It's great overall, but I think being nearsighted was better for looking at computer screens and feel that I'm worse at finding mechs hidden amidst trees or bland colors than I was before it.

You do not understand. I can't physically see the enemy in the first place even if he is in front of me, due to map design and ECM.

Most of my mechs have only 2 module slots, so I can't give up Radar Derp and Seismic for Advanced Zoom.

I have a 27 inch monitor, 20/15 vision with my glasses on and I still find it nearly impossible to see things more than half the time. I find I sit in heat vision just to detect the slightest movement.

PGI really could do a better job with improving visibility of 'mechs.

The majority of competitive games really try hard to make opponents easily seen and distinguishable--there's no hiding in plain sight.

The biggest issue with MWO is how the 'mechs inherit the color of the map around them. You see this on every map. On HPG, all the 'mechs become greyish. On Caustic, they take on that brown color. On Forest colony they suddenly become drab, matted and diarreah colored (depending on what you ate). You get the idea.

Had lasik 10 years ago. best money i've ever spent in my life.

Not that it's the point of this thread, just saying. It's brilliant.

Cool. They can do LASIK now in Mongolia, but the doctors told me that I cannot stare at computer screen too much for an entire year, after the operation. Which makes me hesitate cause my work requires me to work with a computer.

That's bizarre. I'm a programmer, so that would have been a crisis for my job. Never had them tell me that. But hey, I'm not a doc. Maybe they are using a different technique.

There's a new up and coming surgery alternative to lasik, where someone injects "bionic" lenses into your eyes instead of cutting away tissue.

But it's hella expensive.

There really needs to be a Dorito's only queue for all the Skillz Catz.

If you're gonna get Lasik, I HIGHLY recommend doing both eyes (as opposed to the OP "A" Lasik). :P
