I've been tinkering around with my shiny timber wolves. I have the Prime, C, and S.

I have a build that is working stupidly well for my prime, but I've been having a good bit of trouble putting together builds for the other two that don't just fall flat. Granted I'm going to be using them for faction warfare but I can only use 2 at a time, but I still want to be able to USE all three.

The Prime is a short range brawler build using enough SRM's to make baby jesus cry. I am ridiculously happy with it so I don't really want to change it yet.

The C right now... Ehhhh... Got a general idea of what I'm attempting but I'm wide open to suggestion.

And the S.... Find wall, slam head, it seems I can't do anything worth anything.

I'd like to be able to have 3 distinct styles of play on the three, but if I can get as much enjoyment out of the other two that I have out of the Prime, then everything's worth it. Getting an 800 damage game made me a happy camper :P

I'll be back in awhile and thank you in advance for your help!

This is what I posted last year after I spent $55 for my TW's

I had them almost a month before the first TW nerf

http://mwomercs.com/...about-my-3-tws/

I don’t use my Streak Wolf for CW the nerf is too much to take
I even put a targeting computer V in the thing

These days I use my LBX wolf (lbx10 and LBX5 and 3 C-ERML)
My beam Wolf when it’s not a hot map (4 each C-ERLLs)

And my new super secret Triple Threat Wolf
(2each S-SRM6s' a C-LRM10, C-LRM5 and 2 C-ERML)
At the right range you will be hitting mechs with LRMs', S-SRMs' and lasers all at the same time
Works pretty good but the TW has been getting nerf after nerf

If you can live without the A highmount, this will give you a pretty energy centric build with zero negativ quirks.
You can take out 1 heatsink and add a TC if you want. I dont really know why, but i prefer 3ERML 1 LPL to 2 LPL.
You can use the A left torso and put all energy weapons into the torso and take the armor from the left arm to add 1 more heatsink if you can live with the negative quirks.

You can check this page for build ideas too. Don't take his builds as the only correct thing to use, because it's only the opinion of a single player. But he plays for one of the top comp teams and generally speaking all those builds are solid (and meta centric) and can be used.

There are dedicated sub-forums for builds, you'll find useful stuff there.

got bored of laservomit?

TBR-PRIME Brawler

+ good alpha and 5s burst damage
+ not that hot
+ very good dps

- short range
- prone to ammo shortage (still enough ammo for 1800 damage)
- no JJs
- no ppfld

88 alpha hot brawler

TBR-D SplaTimber hot brawler

+ very high alpha
+ not prone to ammo shortage
+ wubs
+ still usable from midrange

- no JJs
- no ppfld
- very hot

also

TBR-S Asymmetric short range poptart

reason i omitted laservomit builds, is because the EBJ is actually way better for that.

4 ML + 2 UAC5 should work on the S.

I've never liked the Timber Wolves in this game. I just can't use them.

I know I'm also the only one on the face of the planet. How dare I speak out against the uber metawolf. But... yeah.

i just got an idea to copy a rather classic mdd build on it and to get 2 c-uac 10 in the side torsos
since i have two timbers which i never played i may level up them in cw grinding for a mechbay and testing this build when the event ends....

If you want the "meta" competitive loadouts, look no further than some combination of cERMLs (typically 5 or 6) or cLPLs (2) and Gauss, or 4 cer MLs and 2 cLPLs (no Gauss).

You can do the all laser build on the prime, 5/6 cER MLs and Gauss on the C (use the S right torso for 2 JJs for both the C and prime), and I like doing a brawler on the S, with 4 SRM6s with artemis (D side torsos) and 4 cSPLs or cERMLs

Also worth noting, you can now do CW with 2 of your timbers, your mad dog and then you will have to use trial light (not the end of the world just play carefully...)

I would just outfit your Mad Dog with 6 STRK-6's for CW. Hunt for light mechs (but don't stray from your team too much). It will be pretty humorous.. they will notice what weapons you have and then **** their pants and try to get away, unless there is a large group of them, in which case you MUST get back to your team.

my personal favorite build, it's about as non meta as it gets
TBR-PRIME "Huntress"
but allows me to 1) wreck face and 2) not feel super cheesy while doing so.
With the changes in the UACs, been having a lot of fun with this build, avg 700 dmg a match
TBR-S
Could build it for Sword and Boarding, etc, but simply prefer the arms for amiability.
TBR-Sword & Board

but I don't claim to be comp or care about optimizing that much...I just prefer what works for me.

Brother in arms! You be not alone! I also renounce the power of the Timby and declare it a pitiful excuse for a mech! B)

The OP is new though, just trying to point out what the top builds on his new set of Timber Wolves are.
