Just patched and loaded my game and immediately noticed that the brightness and gamma sliders work now! Nice!

Which way do you slide gamma to not make heat vision suck?

You slide it back in time to the old "blue" heat vision.

The new heat vision wouldn't be so bad if it worked beyond 500 meters. I have a really hard time seeing anything other than up close targets with it. If they are in my face, I really don't need heat vision to see them. I feel it needs to work better at long range targets, where you actually need it to see them.

I'm fine with that if you make them big round blurry things so you can't specifically target a part of the mech.

Having used IR cameras for years extensively IRL the thermal mode makes me very angry, just... let... me... adjust this ****...

There was a time when one could just crank up the brightness and/or gamma to make night vision mode entirely obsolete on that map, but then the ability to do that magically disappeared for several months...now it's back again. :D

It was Lostech for many moons. It not working in DX11 initially was the core issue and was disabled for BOTH DX9 and DX11 (the former for no reason).

You could just do it on your monitor too...kinda made the removal of the ingame options silly...

What we need:
  • Predator heat vision
  • Night vision that doesn't magically look through smoke for some reason
  • Enhanced ima-jing from Nicolai Malthus
  • Mechwarrior 2 nostalgia vision

i want a vision where all mechs are shown as outlines, not for any nostalgic, i haven't played that game but purely for aesthetic purposes; also it would look like those old fashioned games too

Jacking your gamma to absurd levels to gain an advantage is low.

No more so than playing on Low settings.

I think if they make a vision mode that is better than normal vision in most/all situations then everyone will just use that mode. This is how it was with the old predator vision.

My opinion is that normal vision should be the superior mode and the other modes are meant to supplement it in specific situations.

It should be... but it is not. Sometimes I can't see 'mechs one hundred meters from me.
