Has your mech died to arctic cheetah led light wolf packs more than anything else recently? Are you carrying more armor in the rear than the front nowadays? Have you started to become paranoid everytime you wander more than 200m from the group? Does your mech wear knee braces now to abate the constant legging? Well have no fear, simply watch my short tutorial and you too will learn everything you need to know about how to deal with lights!

Too many mechwarriors lack this virtue.

Thats why they chase the lights too often as well. in most cases the lights anyways come back for more once you scared them off. You just need to have more patience then them.

That would make a great sound for a warhorn.

Having an intro that's half the length of your video... ditch that.

We're still on the "lights are evil" bandwagon here? Hit-reg is more or less fixed, and mixed with laser vomit, they're the easiest thing to kill in the game now. And I'm a light pilot by trade admitting that.

Not really a tutorial, is it? It's just a (very) short battle vid - no explanations, no advice, no actual tutoring.

Basically, this is just a "look ma, I dun shot a lights!" video. Good for you, I guess, but it's anything but a "Tutorial: How to deal with lights".

Also, as someone else said, the intro is way too long. Seriously, 20 seconds of intro and 10 seconds of outro in a 50 second vid? Cut them down by 9/10ths and they may be okay.

Play the game, without a video recording, so you can brag on how good your are, leg several, profit.

So 50 second clip with 20 seconds of what the video is actually about.

I hate the internets.

Bro tip: Moving in reverse lets you turn faster than moving forwards, thus letting you keep the enemy in your frontal firing arc instead of your back.

Also be sure to actually try to concentrate on specific body parts. Lightsabering your lasers on them from head to toe won't do much of anything, you have to try to put all of that deathbeam into 1-2 spots (preferably the legs/thighs area).

PPFLD weapons work great, if you can lead the shot just right...

- Use walls to your advantage. A light can't traverse through wall so having one behind you is pretty neat.
- Aim for the legs (or their most vulnerable part like a open ST). Sadly, almost no one aims for the legs. If everone would do so, the ACHs wouldn't be such a great threat anymore.
- If a light runs around you clockwise and you aren't fast enough to follow it, turn counter clockwise and get it in your sights again. Even a Direwolf can defend himself in close quarters against a light. Maybe a skilled locust or a commando might be agile enough to stay behind you.

@the video: It's not a great feat to kill a myst lynx which runs in front of your face, so I take that the video isn't meant to be serious.

I like playing my boars head in a light swarm ... first back up to wall ... second keep enemy mech in front of you and not them get behind you (in-between said wall and you) ... and third and last wait for that shot and blast the little ^%^&$%%%^ with everything you got!!!!

If done correctly you can kill lights quickly and if the light pilot isn't paying attention you might even get them to shut down while they try and shoot through your front armour.

I thought "use Streaks" was going to be part of the video.

Honestly though, if people didn't go crazy and panic (in addition to chasing the "squirrel"), they would be better players for that.

The ones that panic the most are the easiest targets to backcore with a Light.

The reverse is also true... the ones that know WTF they are doing are the most dangerous vs Lights.

Pop a UAV so your LRM support can wipe them without worrying about hitreg/lag/HSR shield issues. Done deal. Will either kill, leg, or chase out of the area lights.

What I got from that is...

How to deal with lights... drive a Timmie Woof. Which is most accurate. But then it works for 'How to anything'.

But to be fair the TW has been the ultimate benchmark for mechs since day one of the 3050 TR. So it gets ALOT of draw.

Kristian, man, your standard intro really gets in the way of short comedy clips like this. Maybe come up with a Reader's Digest version for sub-2m vids?
