Too many mechwarriors lack this virtue.
Thats why they chase the lights too often as well. in most cases the lights anyways come back for more once you scared them off. You just need to have more patience then them.

Basically, this is just a "look ma, I dun shot a lights!" video. Good for you, I guess, but it's anything but a "Tutorial: How to deal with lights".
Also, as someone else said, the intro is way too long. Seriously, 20 seconds of intro and 10 seconds of outro in a 50 second vid? Cut them down by 9/10ths and they may be okay.

I hate the internets.

Also be sure to actually try to concentrate on specific body parts. Lightsabering your lasers on them from head to toe won't do much of anything, you have to try to put all of that deathbeam into 1-2 spots (preferably the legs/thighs area).
PPFLD weapons work great, if you can lead the shot just right...

- Aim for the legs (or their most vulnerable part like a open ST). Sadly, almost no one aims for the legs. If everone would do so, the ACHs wouldn't be such a great threat anymore.
- If a light runs around you clockwise and you aren't fast enough to follow it, turn counter clockwise and get it in your sights again. Even a Direwolf can defend himself in close quarters against a light. Maybe a skilled locust or a commando might be agile enough to stay behind you.
@the video: It's not a great feat to kill a myst lynx which runs in front of your face, so I take that the video isn't meant to be serious.

If done correctly you can kill lights quickly and if the light pilot isn't paying attention you might even get them to shut down while they try and shoot through your front armour.

Honestly though, if people didn't go crazy and panic (in addition to chasing the "squirrel"), they would be better players for that.
The ones that panic the most are the easiest targets to backcore with a Light.
The reverse is also true... the ones that know WTF they are doing are the most dangerous vs Lights.

How to deal with lights... drive a Timmie Woof. Which is most accurate. But then it works for 'How to anything'.
But to be fair the TW has been the ultimate benchmark for mechs since day one of the 3050 TR. So it gets ALOT of draw.
