Hail,

I have been a staunch supporter and fan of MWO since I got to play it in closed beta. I have always appreciated the fact that a team would, after years and years of waiting, pick up the mantle and create something for us. Yes, there are always things to be critical about but honestly I have had so much fun over the past 3+ years watching the growth of the game. The joy, friends, how the game helped save me when I had cancer 2 years ago... it has been worth it.

Now I am hoping to take my joy of the game and create new avenues in Asia. With the new Oceanic server there's no reason to not foster a community of this game. With that said on Sunday, August the 28th_, I will fly to Taiwan to study Mandarin on a performance based (must maintain a B average) and I’m excited even though:

• The scholarship requires a few months to kick in.
  
• I may not get scholarship money at all if I don’t have money to pay first quarter’s tuition on the 24th
  
• I have no guaranteed place to live
  
• I know how hard and lonely being away from my great-grandmother and friends for the next few years will be.

I sometimes dream about having a life of a well-paying IT job with a wife and family, and a focus on my 93 year old great-grandmother but my goals of helping others are more important than the happiness I might find focusing on myself. Traveling to Taiwan will help me accomplish two of my passions/goals on earth:

• Helping those suffering with addiction.
  
• Helping poor and minority children who don’t know what’s possible for them due to the system we currently live in.

But I can’t do it alone. I am personally asking for help so that I can continue on this path of helping others (while improving my language with a gaming group as part of my unit DSx and broad casting the glory of MWO). An anonymous individual has promised to match donates up to 1000$ if submitted by August 10th with the word “MATCH” in the comments.
