Mine EATS styrofoam.
He was a street rat we adopted. Here he is, our cat Hugo:
Back when I was still living with my parents (I was 15 or something) we encountered a kitten wandering around the local supermarket. Dirty, malnourished, and mewling pityfully in an attempt to beg for food.
So we took it with us to join the rest of the cats (my parents used to have an average of about 4 cats during this period).
We wondered how it had managed to survive. As the supermarket locks away its garbage meticilously. We found out the moment we set the little thing down in the living room and it ran for an empty cardboard box, and started EATING the cardboard box.
We tried to entice it with other food, but we had no succes with the kind of food our other cats were willling to commit murder for.
But id did like kibble. Nice and dry and hard kibble, probably the closest thing to a cardboard box while actually being nutricious.
It's the only thing the crazy thing ate for the rest of its life. Kibble and cardboard boxes. No regular cat food, fresh meat or fish could ever sway it. Eventually (a good number of years later) it died of kidney failure. That kibble can be hard on the kidneys apparently, but it would rather starve than eat anything else.
