Transverse didn't get the funding it wanted. It was up on Kickstarter, and barely anybody paid it any attention. So, it was removed from Kickstarter before even going to full month.
The main reason was at that time Mechwarrior Online was still under control of the company called IGP, and community warfare was not out yet. Say what you want, but the rumors are that IGP made Piranha Games put in features they didn't want. It is possible that PGI was looking for another project to do to get away from that headache. Instead, in the long run PGI now owns MWO and IGP isn't in the deal anymore.
There was a big backlash against another game being started when this Mechwarrior Online game was still "unfinished". So, Transverse was shelved.
