When Russ took over balance and added quirks, he told us it was temporary to see if buffing weak mechs was a better solution to nerfing over performing mechs. The plan was always to let Paul take over balancing after a few months.
Paul is back in charge of balance now, and that's why everything is being reworked. Some of you wouldn't stop crying about quirks, so now everything will get NORMALIZED!

I could go on and on about this, but an ambitious game like this is bound to be slower in development and feature completion. Also since it is not only original in design and ground breaking mechanics wise there are bound to be revisions along the way.
ROFL sorry but you just made me spit coffee out of my nose... Your new here aren't you.
Were you here for the CW is 90 days away and 3 years later we get this lame effort which is now all but DoA?
There is nothing ambitious about this game. the core concept has not changed since Closed Beta, Team Deathmatch, WHICH IS NOT what it was originally sold to the public as.
This game is not ambitious. To dat the only thing that has been pumped out is mech packs for money. Which I am not against, but the game is still very much broken in many many aspects. I do not see this changing any time soon.
I have little to no faith in this re balance. It is being done by people WHO DO NOT play this game nor do they understand how it is played..

we have to remember that CW was Promised years ago, and it was a rocky road for 2-3 years,
but PGI has made Amazing Strides to Enhancing this Game in the last year and a half,
we also have to remember that PGI is a small Company with not allot of assets,
i think that PGI has been doing good these Last year and a half,
and i have hope for this New Balance system and what it will bring,
also remember they are running a PTS before release,
so its likely going to be a large Change to make the PTS needed,
so if we find something we dont like we can bring it to PGIs attention,

The intent is apparently to remove overquirked chasis and create a system that incentives roles.
That all sounds great. But unless PGI plans to redesign the game modes and several core systems, the only role that matters is 'MOAR LAZZORS!'.

Anything that would eliminate the deathball would be a HUGE change, almost equivalent to a complete rewrite of every mechanic.

Perception is in t he Eye of the Beholder.
There are still issues with this game that have been known since closed beta yet nothing has been done about it. The only thing PGI has excelled at is pumping out Mech Packs.
I am sorry but CW is an F'ing joke especially compared to what we were initially promised in order to fund the game. The Quirk system has absolutely made the problem worse by pigeon holing certain mechs into boating those weapsons. The maps are still to small. There is no role warfare. There is no separation in chassis other than how much damage the classes can take.
Hell they do not even visit or post on their official forums. I do not know of ANY developer that does that. The Lack of Communication speaks volumes. I truly believe that whatever they are attempting to do will be the nail in the coffin for this game if they screw it up like they have so many other aspects of this game. Even I am only logging in and playing a couple matches a week now.

Instead of trying to quirk them and level the playing field for all mechs, they need to INCENTIVISE those chassis to reward players who choose to use them Give them more rewards, more c-bills, XP or GXP.
Let players take them as a challenge to pilot, give them roles to fufill and things to accomplish. In other words, give them a fully realized universe to run around in.

Just a small point of contention here: C3 actually let you fire at a target with the range modifiers of the closest member of the network; that's all it did (except the C3 Master working as a TAG as well, but then again TAG was for Arrow IV artillery and nothing else).
We do not have that in MWO.
