Because this is built as a team game. Separating the user base further with un/ranked 1v1 seems pointless and a complete waste of resources at this time.

I'd love to, really enjoyed those 1v1s we've played month or so back.
But i don't have Premium time and i'm not planning on buying any in the near future.

What have they tried to monetize, really?
* Mech packs
* Hero 'mechs
* Camos
* Paints
* Cockpit items
* Private matches
* MC
That's it, isn't it? Seems like there's a lot of things they could do to rake in the cash (and maybe lower the prices on some of the items so they'd sell more).
