it still isn't used correctly, because pgi doesn't consider summer/winter time, which is used in europe, so they should use utc+1 atm (thou most of europe is in the gmt+1 timezone [that would be utc+2 atm])

The tier system seems to be a good idea (the system used before - was there any?!? - was a bad joke).
But I would like to know: Can I check my personal tier level in my profile, or better, in game?

As long as I can not see that (the info about the tier of the other "Warriors" in the matches wouldn't be that bad btw)
I still say: Words, only words. Give me the numbers = facts!!!

Well then Warriors, hopefully better matches and less 12-3 or worse after that patch for everyone!

the only difference between tiers and the old system mm-wise it's the 'release valves'

The patch just went up for pre-download.

We had to perform some additional server testing during the maintenance period, hence the slightly longer downtime.
Servers should be ready to go by the time you finish the patch download, but server access might be slightly delayed if you manage to grab the patch before we finish our work.

I'll update everyone here when everything is good to go.

Would it be possible for you to share with us how the player base is spread across the 5 tiers? For example: 1=20%, 2=25%, 3=40%,4=10% and 5=5%.

Perhaps even making it dynamic, like how the servers are displayed now? "Currently of the players on line there are XX.XX% of players in Tier 3", etc.?

I look forward to the new MM. Making our Tier value visible to the player is a way to motivate players to improve. Much better than the K/D or W/L ratios.

Regarding some of the more complex questions about PSR and matchmaking, we're going to have more info coming soon. In the meantime, I'll go through and answer what I can.

I wonder if this is correct?

If so, then *if you want a match NOW* the best tier to be in is tier 3, but there might be a maximal delta between most and least skilled.

If you want a match which is most likely to contain people of your skill level, then the best tiers to be in are tier 1 and tier 5, but you might have to wait a little longer than the other tiers to get one.
