So it looks like it's Opt-In.

Will we see this implemented in a patch on Sept 8th?

At this point I'm kinda getting itchy to see what tier I'm in. And what tier the dudes I've been hanging with are in...assuming they opt to show that. ;)

It would also be nice to have some info about where the tier information will be displayed. We can make some good guesses, but that's all they are...guesses.

PGI...guys/girls? Data...we need data. But not too much. I don't want to get IOS.

yeah..I wanna see, officially, how much better you guys are than me :)

as for the general population, it doesn't really matter to me what tier I'm in..I still see a lot of the same people in game now that I saw before Elo was scrapped

So based on the votes, we are clearly getting and op in/out system. Can we even see our tiers now?

I want to see your tier and you can see mine, a balanced thing.
This shows how many of the "wise talking" has a pertinent background.
Although it does not unequivocally determine whether the post has more
veracity, but many forum Troll will be unmasked.

That was a bit on the hostile side Aresye. I don't think not knowing about the new tutorial in the PTS is that big of an offense just yet. In fact, I think I know more people who didn't know about it, than those who did. Happens to the best of us.

I'm sorry, but at the time the post was written, there was already an announcement here on the new training academy, reddit has exploded with tons of topics about it, and lots of people have already released full youtube videos showcasing it.

All I'm asking for is 10s of research on the poster's behalf. That's it. I've written posts that are only a few paragraphs that took 2-3hrs to compose, because I've typically got Smurfy's up, quirk pages up, 2 calculators running, uploading videos to supplement my posts, etc.

Not saying people need to spend that amount of time ensuring accuracy, but the least they can do is check the main page.

Ha...don't sell yourself short. I figure most of the guys are on equal footing...more or less. Depends on the mechs we use and such, but generally pretty equal. :)

And ya, my solo games are pretty much the same as before too. Although...maybe a bit easier. I'm almost always leveling up new mechs so that may have kept my PSR lower. And when I'm not leveling I like to rotate through the mechs I have, even the crap ones. And sometimes use goofy builds. Meta can be boring.

Assuming PGI actually implements according to the poll results, I eagerly await changing my badge to Knight Errant, leaving my Tier undisclosed and getting called every name under the sun. The sooner the better.

I voted for the opt in. What is the purpose of the PSR? It really does nothing to add to the game. It mostly allows the elitests to finger point and discount players, that's it really. I can see some benefit from some competitive clans who only want certain skill levels, but that has been and will continue to be best seen in multiple games.

And for those who want to see the rating to know if they should listen to another player...... Consider this, many leaders in military organizations are not the best soldiers/killers, they know strategy and the art of war even thought they first hand are not the best at the execution of it.

I suggest we go with the Siskel and Ebert approach. Either you're an UP or you're a DOWN.

Op-in is probably the best way to go.

I don't really understand why people care about shaming/having blacklists of terrible players and such...
As far as I understand it, the matchmaking extent will only be 2 tiers, so none of the tier 5 lower skilled players should encounter the top of the pops tier 1 quickscopers (unless they squad with higher tiers I guess).
A 2 tier difference doesn't feel like (to me) something to brag about and showing the actual rating or not won't change your matchmaking anyways

Look I already know I am not Kai Allard-Liao or Natasha Kerensky,I say optin. There are enough ego trips/ peeing contests in this game we don't need more.

Opt in would be the best outcome. People who wish not to show what skill level they are due to possible ridicule can be viewed as a common no tag . Keeps people guessing . There will be lots of Tier 2-3 pilots not showing the Tier , so the pug lottery will still be real!!! But personally I would like to see my own Tier level , just to see how bad I am . If im Tier 5 , I'd like to know . Could care less what others think , and if you are in pug que , neither should you !

VOTE YES TO OPT IN :)

Not really much of a choice here. The only purpose displaying this information to the public serves is to promote harassment.

I would allow anyone to look up anyone else's stats. Who gives a rip? Those who judge what is said based on who says it rather than the content of the message are a bunch of narcissistic ignoramuses. That's who we're worried about with this?

I for one think it'd be funny to see what the match numbers are on particular chassis for some of those guys. I know mine are pretty hiliarious. Who cares if the world sees that I have a 0.4 KDR?

I think the best use for this will be the group play.
At least everyone will know what they are getting into when they join other people for some drops.

In solo play people shouldn't be encountering other people with vastly different PSR.

As far as the forums. Everyone is free to say what they want here...within reason. So everyone can put in their 2cent worth. Haters will be haters and trollers will troll. Same as always. Just ignore them. If someone is being a total ****, does what they say really matter to you?

"I want to see your tier and you can see mine, a balanced thing."

No, that's like saying "I want to see your wife and you can see mine, a balanced thing".

Not happening, despite how fair you think it might be.

overall. You have one score. Instead of the 4 we used to have.

I think if they just make PSR work per weight class, or better yet, per chassis. It will instantly be improved.

Short of a Steam launch tomorrow I don't think the numbers are going to change much.

Looking forward to finding out what Tier I'm in. Guessing 3.
