So this patch we have a team damage amount,

How much is acceptable tolerance?

Should it be displayed for all your team to see?

Discuss.

ofc its should be visible to all. only TKs have a problem with this.

Well considering I have an AC20 4 Mediums and 3 SRM6s I alpha with... a lot, I might end up with a bunch on Team damage since lights seem to enjoy playing chicken crossing my LoS. :huh:

I don't think there is an acceptable limit to concern yourself with. JustJust, as always, try not to shoot teammates.

I think it is more of a useful value for you to use than for your team to criticize. Private sounds good.

I think Team Damage (TD) should be public as well as Damage Taken (but this one isn't calculated yet).

Even without TD, there are critics coming from people who look at other players mechs (especially over 60 tons) and if those mechs didn't do 300+ damage, they feel the need to point out who was to blame when they lost or how good they are comparing to other players due to damage amount versus tonnage.

So adding TD would just open a new way to criticize, but that's not the only thing it would bring.

What about teams training new pilots?

That info (TD) at the end screen would be a great way for the leader or tutor to point out some ways for new players to improve (example out of the top of my head is when someone zooms in too often and doesn't look at the mini-map to know if a teammate is too close, but there are way more options to create team damage, this was just an example).

If you ask me, the more info we have at the end of a match, the better.

But if someone thinks it's too much, why don't we get a toggle option for some of the stats? Make public (Y/N)

Oh and one last thing.
This is the internet! There will always be someone ready to criticize no matter how much data they have access to.

Just ignore if it's the case and move on.

Will be interesting if the tier5 bracket is not for bad players but "bad" players... you know TKers and such. A pool where all the scumbags can shoot each other, and after that the enemy team...

Team damage SUBTRACTS from your Match Score.

Must have team wide situational awareness.

Hmm. I see the potential for a remake of the classic Arcade game Frogger here. Instead of a frog trying to cross a road with passing cars you could have a Locust trying to run across the firing lanes of King Crabs, Dire Wolves, Banshees, Atlases and the like. :)

Worst team damage I've dealt yet was 70, Streaks...

I would lockon to a guy, have my missles in flight, and then the target would veer off and my missles steered right into a teamate while we're all squirrel hunting.

Usually been pretty good, between 0-5 most of the time even during some pretty hairy fights where we're all packed together.

Its nice to know just how much damage we're dealing though.

Single digit team damage is acceptable. More is not. Everyone should be able to see everyone else's team damage.

If it has a "did they walk in-front of you're firing line after you hit the trigger" count then I'll be excited.

That someone has given out X amount of team damage says nothing about the player except that he's given out X amount of team damage.

Max I've gotten so far was 15, the rest was all under 10. I like it and if we'd get a stat for damage taken too then it would be even nicer. If I could see that I take a lot of team damage in my light, I'll know I'm walking through friendly firing lines too much and could use that info to improve my playstyle.

That's just about every game for me, with the fire coming from both teams. It's fun.

Most damage is within 10-15 units so it is acceptable. LRM mechs might do team damage up to 30 due to friendlies hugging the targeted enemy mech.

If you're using a slow projectile weapon like an IS AC20 or AC10 then you're excused if a teammate gets between you and your target after you pull the trigger. If you're using a "streaming" weapon like lasers, machineguns or Clan ACs you MUST instantly aim away to minimize the damage. I do it all the time.

Played my First Match yesterday after Patch, jumped right in,
it was a horrible, i think the final Score was 3-12, I must be T1, :P

so during the Fight my Nova 5/5ER-ML Build, so a TBR decided to move infont of me wail i was firing,
so ya 22 Team Damage, that Match but i still got 160ish MatchScore, so not too bad,

i think Team Damage is taken 1-1 out of your Score unlike normal Damage is 10-1 added to your Score,
if this is how it is i think its good as a penalty, but if getting low Match Scores moves you Down Teirs im worried,
why? those Willing TKers will slowly be moving down farther and Farther into Cadet lands,
