The same can't be said about the Arctic Cheater. You can't really ST-pop it, and for legging? It's probably the hardest mech to leg in the game. I mean, due to quirks its legs are as tough as a cicada's (if my math isn't completely off), while the size is pretty small for Light mech standards (mostly due to the humanoid shape of the mech), not only that, it has large arms that shield pretty well, especially if you're in a tall mech, you can barely hit the legs if the ACH pilot knows what he's doing.
I could also add that the ACH's animations add to this difficulty to leg, due to how wide the stride is
I don't know.

Because then it will get nerfed.

Spider
Firestarter
Arctic Cheetah
I know I'm missing one.
These have not been fixed, they've just fallen behind in the powercreep and are now just in the mix of mechs taken because if they were fixed they'd be ignored.

Let the hate flow through you .
And yes, we mostly/all know the ACH is as broken as the FS, albeit ECM and 5 tons less than the FS make it look even more broken and we all know what that means ^^

The Cheater certainly has more leg hitpoints than the Firestarter thanks to quirks, while being smaller in size. The things PGI does in order to get money...
Come next tryhard tournament, we probably will see Cheaters slowly overtake Firestarters in mech selection, should things stand as is.

It is going to be hilarious to see teams composed of nothing but Clan mechs.
As far as i recall, the Firestarter was the only IS mech that was consistently used by the "competitive players"

What? you don't? Okay okay, those that aren't Clan mechs are ECM Ravens and Firestarters with the rare ECM Cataphract or ECM Griffin.
I rarely see fewer than 6 on any team and yes, they're either meta or near meta.

1. Few more years of Clan tech dominance? How thrilling.
2. LFE is just a "poor man's Clan XL". Even the popular 300 rating engine will have 6.5 tons of difference in weight savings between Clan XL and LFE. The Clanner can put in additional CLPL for that difference.

Mhm.
LFE won't affect much in the Clan vs IS department.
All it will do, is make the STD engine obsolete.

Some of the difficulties *could* be because players are accustomed to popping fast lights (i.e. IS lights) by taking out the XL engine via a ST.
From my perspective (not an especially skilled one), the ACH does seem to allow me to recover from more obvious screw-ups in a match than I could normally get away with.

Fast, packs enough firepower, good boatable hardpoints, ECM, Clan XL, good hitbox profile.
But take away its absurd structure bonuses over its entire body, and its about as good as the FS.
That is the problem, it got overquirked on structure, its easy enough to knock armor off the legs and torso, but once you do, its like its even harder to knock out.
These things take way too much damage to kill for a light.

LONG BURN LASERS FOCUSED ON THE HIPS kill them plenty easy enough...

You missed the quirked STK-4ns in the mix on purpose didn't you....
