Where do you get rear armor at? Is it a special MC only thing?

You have to buy special mech packs n such. Those come with rear armor I hear.

I actually inverted my armor. My Atlas has 92 rear armor an 28 in the front. I spend a lot of time running from the enemy.

I think it's alright to go under 5 armor on a light mech, mainly because their total armor pool is smaller to begin with. Also more agility to help keep people away from your butt...

If ttk wasn't under 2 seconds we wouldn't all be running almost nothing on our backs :)

Actually, the main reason for frontloaded armor is because getting attacked from behind is vastly less common than being attacked from the front. Why put armor in a place that rarely gets hit?

I think I missed the point of this thread. Was it supposed to be funny? is there a joke in there somewhere. I feel like the like the OP tried really hard to make a funny, but just pooped instead.

2 seconds is rather a long time to die, mechwarrior. In my day, we lasted half seconds and WE LIKED IT!

I actually once heard about a TT exploit like that...Load up a mech with its entire arsenal being rear-mounted, and then put all of its armor loaded to the back...then walk backwards into the fight lol.

It worked because rear-facing weapons had a lower BattleValue than frontal weapons...
