Instead of needing to get a certain number of wins, lets conquer a certain number of maps on a given planet.
Lets say that Planet A consists of 1 x Sulphurous rift, 2 x Canyon network, 2 x Forest colony, 2 x River City, and 3 x Boreal Vault. (Planet B would have a different map combinations, unique to it)
So to conquer Planet A, a faction first needs to take down the orbital cannon on Solphorus rift, than win a battle on Canyon network, then on Forest Colony, than another on Canyon network, and so on, untill it wins the capitol on the River City map.
This would make planetary conquest of each individual planet a mini-campaign, instead of a stale un-imaginative "game mode".
Now, say that after Clan Wolf takes Sulphourous rift on Planet A, and Stainer players get a message "News Flash: Clan Wolf takes Carnus Ridge on Sirius"... wouldn't that be awesome?
Then when Clan Wolf takes Planet A, Stainer players, who have lost Planet A get a message "Sirius has fallen! We have lost the mechworks on Sirius. Atlas chassis no longer available for purchase! Our hearts go out to the thousands of civilians now occupied by Clan Wolf, may they have mercy on their souls"
And then a Stainer pilot is like: "crapola... now I have to pay 30% more to buy an Atlas on the Black market.. damn those Clanners... hey, guys, lets take our factory back!"
Wouldn't that be a MUCH better game that "oh, you know, I bought a new mech bundle, I'm leveling it out so I'm not interested in CW tonight, it doesn't mean anything anyway"?
