A Raven and a Dragon had a baby. Then it was beaten with the ugly stick and they abandoned the poor thing on the side of the road.

I'll still try it at some point though 'cause i want another medium to troll around in.

The crab is ugly. Damn ugly.

But so is live child birth. Which is ugly, damn ugly, but beautiful.

The crab is like live child birth... Beautifully ugly.

Do you guys think maybe I drink too much? Nah silly question. Nm,

As an energy based medium with "lighter" loadout, the speed and maneuverability should keep you facing the enemy so rear armor should be ok (unless you are running away a lot lol).

As for legs, it's never good to run legs too low. I wouldnt run legs in the 30s or lower unless it was a light and yhat was all you had. I try to always keep leg armor around 50 if the mech allows it. I will say this though, I don't notice people aiming at legs as much in the solo queue (unless it is a light), so it might get away with lighter armor (even with those thunder thighs).

I am planning to run them as STD engine energy support/brawler, so I will be surrounded by juicier targets for the enemy to pick from. Sturdy Wubboat, LLpoker or even PPCboat.

Leg death have been pretty rare for me, maybe I am in lower tier.
I use to remember a time where people would even shot hunchback in the leg, instead of the AC20. I notice the mentality to stop going for legs changed when centurion's torso hitbox got fixed, and it is faster to cored them than legged them.

I'm interested to see how this plays out. I already planned what I am doing for the XL 350 variant (XL 350, 2 LL, 3 ML) and the JJ variant (XL 295-300, 3 LPL, 1-2 JJ).

That backpack though... If that is the RT that will suck.

I'm going to be surprised if this isn't a solid contender for the worst medium mech. But it can vomit lasers, so I guess that's all it needs to do, right?

It's either going to be durable like the stalker or a death trap like the dragon and catapult.

Personally I'm hoping for durable because it'd be cool to actually have a few more IS mediums where a STD engine is worth it.

The Vindicator set the bar pretty high (or low I suppose), so the Crab would really have to be pretty rough.

It's tricky to guess how durable it will be. It has a big nose, no doubt about that. It seems like it's forward profile is pretty small though. This could be more ideal for face tanking an opponent like lasers tend to need (due to duration).

I think some of it might depend on how far up the sides the side torso extends. If it goes to the nose and is fairly tall, then the CT would be pretty narrow from the front. It would actually be a negative to the side torsos to twist because the whole side of the torso would be exposed (a large flat hitbox on the side of the CT). If anything, maybe the Crab would end up being STD engine friendly (which would be still ideal for a laser boat vs a mech with heavy ballistics and ammo).

Again, all guessing. It's something we won't know till we try it.

Wow I honestly didn't think PGI could get me to be excited for an IS medium ever again.. (excluding the Bushwacker and Uziel <3)

Looks great!

Even though I hate to be "that guy" that says a mech is DOA before it's even out, I'm looking at that model and the hard point layout and thinking, "I've got a bad feeling about this....".

I could be wrong though. Maybe I'm just letting my personal preferences cloud my judgement. We'll see.
