Hey fellow Mechwarriors,

since the last patch I`ve noticed something:

My teams get stomped every game.

Well, you say, propably you suck.

Ehh, no.
I`m not the best player in the world but when I play pub games, I usually ended as one of the top 3.

So what is wrong?

I talked to some other players, who also noticed some problems concerning the balancing.
They experience devastating losses 12-1, 12-2 or extreme victories, the other way around.

Also I noticed, one time we started with 4 dire whales, while the enemy only had the lightest assaults you could have.
So I was wondering if this has to do with the new rating system for the pilots?
Does it need some time to rate you according to your current player success?
Or did PGI just not take in count that you can`t make up pure firepower and armour by skill at any time?
(Not saying that you cant, but just not taking in account the weight difference seems odd)

Please post some of your experience and your opinions, and please stay focused on the topic.

Thx

It is impossible to eliminate stomps. Stomps are more common than "close games". This is not a mistake or error. It just reflects the game's mechanics. When one side has an advantage it is much harder for the other team to seize the initiative.

It`s not about how common stomps are.
In fact I think they are not, or at least have never been to me since most of the games I used to play were pretty even.

I talk about how often you have experienced them since the last patch compared to the time before.

More stomps? Less? Why?

I'm seeing more stomps overall in group and solo queue. As in the end score is 12 - (1-4) one way or the other.

But even though there's more stomps at the score screen, it seems that the first 4 kills that determine who stomps who occur slower in the match than before. So the games are playing out a bit slower initially, but still snowball into a stomp one way or the other.

The Stomp part is just the nature of the game. That part is not ever going to be eliminated. But if it happens in 3 minutes or 8 minutes depends on how well the teams are matched up.

This is why i temporary quit playing.

You seek for a match for about 5 up to 8 minutes.
You proceed to get stomped and end with about 150 damage because you literally have no chance to do some damage to your liking because you get outnumbered fast.
You disconnect.

And repeat. I'm not the only one in the same boat. I have seen familar names who experience the same.

After about 100 matches stomp after stomp with about 8 matches booked as close, after the implentation, i just gave up. If up to 80 to 90% matches have to be stomps just to settle your PSR that's no joy and i see it as wasting my time.

I wait untill rebalance kicks in or the Mauler when it's for cbills available to take some joy out of it.

As most thinking people on this forum have outlined, the new PSR system WILL NOT get rid of stomps, nor should it. Stomps are a result of a 12v12 game. lose 2 or 3 'mechs first and it's gonna go poorly from there. That said I have noticed a dramatic increase in the skill level of my opponents since the patch. Seems like a good thing to me!

Which could be a plus. But it also show the poor team mentality which is wandering around.

I am here for teamwork, not try hards who wants their own solo que space.

You are righ, I also noticed my opponents beeing more skilled, which is as you said, a good thing.

But at the same time I noticed my team`s skill level dropping to a deep deep hole. Not compared to the enemy team but to an average player that has, let`s say about 4 months experience.
They run around with no sense of direction, run into mechs, maneuver extremly bad, stand behind mechs, run into LOF and so on. Things I like to call "newbie mistakes".

So how can it be that there is such an extremely wide gap between teams?
I definetly noticed this since the patch.

Have I been "downrated"? Because I don`t think I am that bad that I get a "newbie rating"
And why is the enemy team that extremely strong if we were so bad? The skill levels are not remotely close.

This is very true. I've had lots of games where the fighting had been constant and fierce for several minutes with neither side having a kill.

The only teamwork in game is the teamwork you create.

I wouldn't overly concern myself with the new system since 4 out of 5 Tiers can theoretically be in the same match together. Honestly, I am not sure how much has really changed.
