A very simple idea, that could also make money and should be easy enough to implement.
Each mech has an area on the arms, front and back for a unit badge. The area should be a standard shape for all mechs i.e. easy to scale.
A unit can pay to have their badge put into the game for the sole use by the unit members.
the Devs would obviously have to insert the badge into the game and approve the same to avoid the obvious problems of rude images etc.
You'd just need to calculate how much time this would take and charge for it accordingly.
