Let me guess. If PGI had written those phrases in English, then many would ***** they never got translated... (facepalm).

Especially the Liao and Kurita ones?

The Kurita King Crab front torso kanji reads "Big Enemy Crab". I am sure it is a parody of the "Giant Enemy Crab", but PGI mixed up the word "Giant", with "Big". So there you have it. Either way, you are supposed to attack its weak points for massive damage.
Its claw kanji reads "Small Cut", but it is in Chinese, not Japanese.

Liao one says, "Not following the rules enough", or something like that. The claw kanji reads, "Hook". But it has pincers.

Can I work as a translator for PGI?

The whole "Sprechen sie bang bang" thing is a reference to the List of Things Mr. Welch Can No Longer Do In An RPG.

Here's a link (scroll down to #298):

I'll do the Liao ones if someone could link me the screen-cap of the quotes. I don't have any faction skins.

(I can already feel the cringe coming)

Ooooookay so I looked up the Liao pattern for the King Crab....

Posted Image

The one character on the claw means "hook," and in no contexts does it mean "claw" or "pincer" in any way. So, close enough I guess.

The line on its brow is the first half of a quote from Sun Tzu's Art of War - and I assume the other half is on the other side of its brow. If you take it literally, without any context, it barely makes sense - know that Art of War is written thousands of years ago, and ancient Chinese is an extremely abstract language that barely resembles what we speak now. So, if I have to guess, the quote in its entirety, "守则不足, 攻则有余" roughly means "Attack is the best defense."

IIRC the steiner crab camo released reading Schnappe Schnappe, but I noticed the other day it was Schnapp Schnapp. PGI ninja edit?

I can imagine what they had in mind.

The typical, 2 metres tall, bearded german shouting SCHNIPP SCHNAPP SCHNIPP SCHNAPP while swinging his man-tall axe to cut down some trees hearing Ramstein.

That's basically what we are doing here all day.

Doesn't Schnapp mean "Snap"? Like, you know? Crabs do. They "snap" with their pincers.

I don't know, i don't really speak german. Just shooting in the dark, here.

Yes it does. Sunds stupid anyways, but at least it's not a typo or some horrible google translate accident.

Seriously, how can you not at least send the picture to a german player to verify it? This is preorder content especially advertised, why do they not check it for spelling at least?

Can't get my head around it.

This is just embarrassing. There would be alot of german users and even moderators who would have helped them.

There are so many funny german phrases you could put on a mech ... like

"Achtung, heiße Auspuffgase"

"Maximale Höhe: 15 m"

"Benutzung auf eigene Gefahr"

"Eltern haften für Ihre Kinder"

"Schrittgeschwindigkeit"

"Baustellenfahrzeug"

"Achtung, heiße Oberfläche"

And so on ...

Meh, translation errors happen especially with its something like that, not like it was errors in text storyline that everyone sees.

However what gets me is, WTF is up with that resolution. I'm sure they can do better than that... or would it make the game too slow lol.

I have the FRR camo on my Urbanmech, i think it only has 2 words written on it.
Tung (which, i'm pretty sure means "Heavy") on the back
Överfall (which means "Assault") on the right arm.

Ironically, both words are also weight classes that aren't Urbanmech's.
