Is there a way in this new interface to choose which hardpoint a weapon goes on now?

The order that you equip them determines the location.

Well, I thought that too. So I put my medium laser on it, it goes on the hip point, then my ERPP whcih I want on the shoulder not the hip. It goes on the shoulder. I take off the medium laser, ERPPC drops to the hip. I cannot find a combo that will let it stay up there

Oh yeah you have to use the small laser tax to prop it up.

Nope, on majority of mechs, especially Inner Sphere ones, PPC always takes first slot, always, and you can't reposition it by juggling in lighter weapons, even LPL will not supersede.

There is no way around it with PPC and any ballistic heavier than AC-5 on almost every mech.

There are some exceptions, I think the Enforcer will let you put the PPC where you want it, and Zeus maybe 1 more.

But then you try it on a Hunchback, or Banshee, and it will occupy the hip slot or primary Hardpoint first.

I wish there was. Lord knows I wanted to put them Dual AC20/Gauss on the highest mount on my Jagers.
