Well to be fair, if I was a dev I couldn't read the forums.

For every valid complaint there are a dozen more griefing entitled spoiled brats.

I would probably backdoor an "auto-destruct troll" code into every mech, to be activated from my console.

Not the point.

No need for a dev or owner to read, just vomit info much like done on Tweeter.

There are other MWO staff members for that.

Unless Tweeter is the official source of information and not the Forums.

The problem isn't that PGI isn't open to feedback. The problem is that there's a sizable population who still harbor asinine amounts of animosity over what happened 2-3 years ago and make a point of undermining PGI any time they attempt to do anything. Separating the legitimate criticism from the outright vitriol isn't an easy task and that's probably the reason why they don't post often here. I'm betting at least Tina reads some of what happens here though.

We have offered legit criticism, there is an Island cockpit item for it.

I had an idea a few days back, then someone pointed me to a tweeter post from Russ somewhat related to the post subject.
Why should anyone have to go to Tweeter to know anything about this game that's not presented on the forums?

Either I'm miss-understanding the whole thing and the actual official MW:O's forums aren't official, or someone has their priorities set a bit off.

Another cool sentence I saw, related to why it's on Tweeter and not the Forums was:
"If players on the forum were more Positive we may get better responses"

That's tough. When I do some work and I present a poorly batched together sample of it, I also would like to not talk to those who criticize me and offer negative feedback.
I'd love to just close my eyes, cover my ears and hope for it to go away...

Funny story:
I actually tried something like that, I was around 5 years old... and found out that it didn't quite work. Learned my lesson and started to listen to critics and build better solutions using that extra information.

So, in short: The community has some users with negative feedback and that's the reason why Tweeter is now the official channel for information?
Why stick around in the forums, then?
Let's just get into Tweeter and smile, favorite and share rainbows and unicorns!

I'd just like to finish this post in a Tweetery positive note by saying "Good job, PGI!" *favorite*

Rant off.

Sorry about this, guys. It's just stupid to have to look into another information channel outside the supposedly official one, to get details or info.

You should tweet this to Russ.

Don't forget the other thing;

"Separating the legitimate criticism for the outright brownn0sing, sycophantic, fawning of the terminally deluded is also not an easy task".

Last I checked PGI was run by guys wearing big boy pants and they should be able to ignore both extremes and post important updates and information on the forums. I don't care if they lock the damn posts, they should at least post ANYTHING significant to say here if its worth twittering about.

So I will ask again. What was Tweeted that was not made available on these Forum that was absolutely mind blowing info? For myself, it is SFA and has always been SFA. When was the last Patch Notes posted on Twitter and not the Forums.

It must be a Conspiracy right? "Tinfoils Hats on Full!" as usual...

Below, a hot new example, fresh and still breathing:

Again, same situation. Info leaked out from other source than MWO forums.

I guess we just need to say: "Thank you Tweeter for existing!"

(Not wanting to turn this into a context discussion, just leaving a kind of situation that... well... grinds my gears!)

easy solution, I'm no web developer but I imagine this could be done relatively easily:

On the main forums page, put a feed of the recent PGI tweets

Or hell, put a little ticker across the bottom / top of the forums that live feeds it...

I'm not saying this is PGI's reason, but my rationale would be as such:

The official forums are for official announcements. What we put up there is what is happening/going to happen.

Twitter is where we can throw out some feelers, make noncommittal statements, share thoughts that may or may not make it into the game.

This. Plus +++++++ 100. You get a cookie Dino Might!!!!!

It becomes a problem when twitter feedback is weighted MORE heavily than forum feedback.

YES, I'm looking at you, 3PV.
