Seriously, though, this is awesome. I'd love to see acheivements/badges/titles for particularly good challenge times, cool bragging rights.

Bragging rights for killing BOTs?

And when we get the first post that the AI is to smart for people and has to be dumbed down, people still going to brag they can beat unintelligent BOTs?

You, and everyone else, knows that once the first nub gets rolfstomped by a BOT they nerd rage will be hilarious!

Sadly, 5he September roadmap seems pretty clear that we've got a fair bit of a wait. I'm disappointed but not surprised... The big rebalance and new sensor mechanics are REALLY high on my "things I want to see" list.

Not just bragging rights for "killing bots".

Bragging rights fornhow many waves of bots you can survive, for how fast you can kill the targets, etc.

Much like how there are worldwide target shooting competitions where people aren't shooting live humans, right? How fast and accurate you are is still a valid measure of skill.

For example: many of us practice/measure mech performance by how quickly we can kill every mech in Caustic. Not because its hard, or you're in any danger, but because there is a measure of skill and chassis/build capability in how quickly you can do it.

Also: bots, without Artificial Stupidity, would utterly destroy the best players in the game. Just like in other FPS's, people mock bots but only because they don't understand that the challenge of action game AI bots isn't making them good enough, its making them bad enough to be fair.

Well put. I think bots are fun and bots in MWO would be a fun game mode on it's own for experienced players.

"Godlike Bots" were my favorite training tool in Unreal Tournament, especially Instagib. If you weren't already lined up to shoot them and also dodging, you were probably dead.

I suspect though that the test will occur on Labor Day weekend, for sure sometime before the official drop date (but feedback won't come early enough to affect the end result).
